I am picking up my 2nd console (Already have Wii, and a high-end PC) this Holiday season, and I want SO BADLY to get a PS3. Its sleek, its sexy, it is well built and doesn't have a high failure rate, and the blu-ray player is just fantastic. I would love to have one.

Except that I cannot bring myself to drop $400 on a system that could not keep me busy for more than a month at the rate I burn through games. As a compulsive do-everything-er, Mass Effect alone will last me longer than R&C, R:FoM and Uncharted combined. Its not even that Sony is behind on the releases, its that they literally are not even coming. AAAE exclusives are all well and good, but once those are done, you need a solid midrange of AA and A games to fall back on, and PS3 doesn't even have that. There literally aren't any games to play!

And Xbox live is just amazing, you can play the downloadable demos for days and not need to even put in an actual game. The community aspects, gamerscore, achievements, excellent networking, and media capabilities make it such an immersive experience that really makes each game feel like a part of a whole gaming environment rather than just seperate little discs.

So yeah, I'm getting the failure-prone system that uses 10 year-old discs and charges me 100 bucks for a wireless dongle. Becausevideo gamer systems are about more than lists of high-tech features. Ioccasionally game on them.

So, instead you're going to pay $450 (with the wireless dongle you mentioned) for a single game? The only games the 360 has that aren't already on PC (or coming to PC) are Halo 3, Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo and Mass Effect. The PS3 exclusives (Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Resistance, Folklore, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, etc.) are ONLY on the PS3. Your case doesn't make much sense. If achievements are your biggest sell, I guess I can sort of see it, but otherwise it doesn't make much sense.

Seems to me like you just want to talk down the PS3 and talk up the 360 in a disguised post.

[QUOTE="CJL13"]Want a long PS3 game? Pick up Oblivion. PS3 has several good AA and A exclusives. Also you can download demos on the PS3.Apathetic-Irony

or you can get all those games on 360 AND oblivion on it...

oh and theres the fact 360 has several MORE AAA games than ps3...

yea buthell be mssing out on the best rpgs on the ps3. Final fantasy, wks for example

Those games aren't out yet. They won't be out for another few months (WKS) to another year (FFXIII). Not to mention the 360 has its own RPGs coming out, has current RPGs already, and you really have no idea if either of those will really be good.

All that you spewed was "Just wait.." Well, then why buy a PS3 now? Wait for Sony to cut the price another $100 and buy the games when they come out.

i wouldnt buy something now if its future doesnt look all that great. PS3 future game lineup>>>>360's and seeing as since sony has had and still has the best rpg devs im sure theyll still produce. not to mention it looks like the mass effect sequels will be on the ps3 anyways. you act like im just waiting to see if something good EVER pops up. but we know the best is next year. theres a difference. id rather LOSE today and know my future is good rather then win today and be unsure about my future. same with game consoles.
