[QUOTE="kingtito"][QUOTE="Lazy_Boy88"]Yeah Halo3 is not going to push more than 1-2 million consoles this holiday. You guys gotta realize that most all Halo fans have already moved on long ago for what 360 already has got..... Xbox1 has been dead 2 years for christs sakes. This holiday is about the first time Sony fans have even had a reason to move on from PS2.
And even if 360 did hit 15 million..... that's after all possible system seller games are out and there's no momentum from there. Probably will only hit 13-14 though.
That's something you guys always fail to realize about PS3 vs. 360. 360 has the games, it has a reasonable price, yet is completely stagnant. After Halo3 there's just nothing to drive the sales. PS3 on the otherhand is selling at the same rate as 360, has very few games so far, and a much higher price. 360 has nowhere to go from here. PS3 can only get better.
Ninpo_Osa
This entire thread stinks of PS3 fanboys. You guys are soooooo blind to actually think lame games like HS, R&C or even MGS4 can compete with Halo. That game is known world wide unlike most of the games you've mentioned.
I think better topic would be Cows be real for once". Serioulsy you've getting your *&^##@ handed to you by the 360 and the Wii. The sales have been horrible and even in your best month ,after the TEMPORARY price drop, it still came in 3rd. One of your most hyped games just flopped big time and you've got nerve to make a retarded thread like this.
I'm no fanboy of any system as I own a 360, PS3 and my gaming computer. Stupid threads like this make people want to slap the hell our the blindSony fanboys.
Looks like we touched a nerve. Perhaps PS3 fans are getting tired for the race to the bottom that the constant bickering with Lemmings leads to. I'm here to "break the cycle". Let's see you talk all that smack about "Sony fanboys" at the end of PS3s second year. See, that "early lead" BS is catching up to bite ya in the arse every day. It's one thing to keep momentum and talk this crap, it's another when your sales fall flat and all you have to do is crap on the PS3 while waiting for your RROD coffin in the mail. If you're not careful, the PS3 and it's fans won't be the whipping boy of these forums for too much longer. Ouch! That was a very harsh post... :D[QUOTE="Ninpo_Osa"]By November 2007, who here honestly believes the 360 will break 15 million units sold? Last year it struggled to break ten and it looks like the 360s sales are on impulse power only in its second year.. If the 360 doesn't break 15 million by it's second birthday, when will it?justforlotr2004
Well its at about 11 Million right now, so with Halo 3 and all the other great games this holiday you may see around 13 million by next year? idk pretty hard to predict, but I dont think we will see 15 million.
that's funny because earlier this year lemmings where predicting 360 would be nearing 17-18 million by the end of the year..oh boyhow the tides have changed..
[QUOTE="Onoskelis"]I'm sure a little game called Halo 3 will move a lot of consoles.Gamer46
Yes, but will it move 4 million in two months? I doubt it. 360 will be at 14 mil by the end of the year, but by the end of 2008 it will have been surpassed by Wii and PS3 if its not ahead will be right on 360's heels.
Wii will outsell it. but the PS3 is outsold worldwide every month by the 360 except for the last one because of the "limited price drop".[QUOTE="KD-Archangel"]You honestly think the sales are going to stay in "impulse power" with the lineup it has this Christmas? Eh...I disagree.Ninpo_OsaWell, no doubt Halo 3 is going to be the big party for the console.. But the real question is how many of those people lined up for Gears of War already? GeoW was a system seller to hardcore gamers. Halo is a system seller for the casual masses. As I stated in another thread, I know of 4 people who recently bought or are buying a 360 just for Halo 3. So to answer your question, there are quite a few people who will jump on the 360 bandwagon this month.

Only with a real price cut, a permanent one, and even then the PS3's monthlynumbers willhave to jump significantly to have any chance of catching the 360 by the end of '08. IMO it's possible but unlikely. Funny thread title considering Cows are always sooo honest themselves, .

Wii will outsell it. but the PS3 is outsold worldwide every month by the 360 except for the last one because of the "limited price drop".PS3 is getting beat by 360 in North America on a monthly basis, but not by much and once the PS3 comes down to $500 or less on a more permanent basis, the 360 will be in big trouble. Europe still loves Sony more than any other brand and all it takes to turn the tide back in PS3's favor in Japan, where it all ready destroys 360,is Final Fantasy XIII. PS3 will catch up to 360 sooner than some think and it could also catch the Wii if Nintendo isn't careful.
360 is my favorite console, imo, it's holiday lineup is better than either of the other two consoles combined, but lets be real here, MS has squandered this one year head start. Nintendo has nearly caught them and PS3 is making up ground thanks to Japan and Europe. What happens when those North American PS fans jump on the PS3 bandwagon when it's more affordable? It's game over for the 360. MS had their chance, they blew it.

Even if the PS3 began beating the 360 by 300,000 units a month it would take almost 2 years to catch up. In other words, the PS3 would have to start selling better then the Wii.[QUOTE="Ninpo_Osa"][QUOTE="KD-Archangel"]You honestly think the sales are going to stay in "impulse power" with the lineup it has this Christmas? I just have to jump in with you, I just 1 day ago had a friend from work ask me if I was excited for Halo 3, (this guy had an Xbox but has not made the jump yet), I told him I don't really get into the Halo franchise, he was like "Really???? I am so excited for Halo 3", he was asking me about current prices on the console etc. I also have someone on my friends list from original Xbox (that I have kept on all this time because we get along so well), who plans to make the jump to 360 for Halo.
People who are big into Halo haven't even made the jump yet, there was no Halo to give them reason to. People who are big into Halo, are still enjoying Halo on the original Xbox.
The people who ran out and bought 360 launch day are hardcore gamers (there were several people in line with me who had plans to trade in the 360 once PS3 came out)
I only bring this up because everyone has this attitude like all the Halo players are already there. It's not true, at all.

what line up for this years end...
halo? and mass effect...
dsnt compete with
Uncharted: DF
R&C
Haze
UT3 (nothing can beat this game)
GT5:P
Socom confrontation
Heavenly sword
etc.
360 dsnt have much....dam fanboys
Uncharted?? Haze?? These games are not known by the casuals.
Let me give you an example, do you know how many times I have heard Xbox didn't take off untill Halo?? These people don't even realise Halo was a freaking launch title. These games will mean something to the Hardcore (if they score well), but will mean NOTHING to the casuals.
R&C is an established franchise but I don't see it as system seller unless it gets great scores.
Halo 3 is on the cover of Time freakin' magazine. Yes it will move many, many console units.getyeryayasout
No crap man, I mean G4 is doing a whole launch night special.I have seen them do this for consoles, but never for a specific game.
Laugh out loud!!!!
Anyone ever heard of a thing called a sales-forecast??? OK, when you predict sales you draw up a chart to see how much your product will sell over the course of a year. Electronic entertainment goods sell many times their normal rate on the run up to christmas. This includes tvs, vcrs, dvd players etc and in particular games consoles.
By simply thinking that current monthly sales will continue with a slight boost by Halo and Mass Effect shows little understanding. If you take into account the already low 360 price and then factor in a possible price drop, Halo 3 in with the bundle, I think its not unreasonable to conceive that lots of children will be opening up 360s come xmas day.
I would also like to add something about ps2 owners. The majority of which are casuals who have no particular allegiance to a particular brand. Then walk into a game store and see whats on offer. They like sony, have always bought sony and would prefer sony. However, they have been hearing more and more about the 360 and its games. They've heard of halo, gears of war and are wondering what akll the fuss is about. I think a certain percentage of ps2 gamers are bound to come across.
Going back to sales forecasts however. It also applies to the ps3. This xmas you will start seeing it shift a lot more units aswell.
Will MS reach 17 mil? Its a reasonable assumption. Will the ps3 be faar behind? Yes but it wont be doing bad either. We'll have to wait and see.

This has to be the fifth time I've seen you say that with absolutely nothing to back up your ridiculous claims. By your same exact logic, I guess we can assume that everyone who is waiting for MGS 4 or FFXIII has already bought a PS3.
Again, you make even more claims with nothing to back them up. What are you basing your predictions on? Gears of War, the Xbox 360's biggest selling game drove 360 sales through the roof last holiday and to date it's only sold about 4 million copies. This is only half of what Halo 2 sold. Yes, it can still move up, but given Halo 3's presence and huge following, there are plenty of reasons to believe that it can drive 360 sales even higher. Even if you don't consider Mass Effect a system seller, the 360 already has a huge potential system seller after the holidays in the form of GTA 4. No it isn't exclusive, and yes it will move PS3's as well. But given the 360's lower price, better track record as far as multiplats, and the exclusive content coming down the pipe (if MS markets this right it could be a huge deciding factor), the 360 will probably be percieved as the more viable option.
Saying that the 360 has nowhere to go from here and the PS3 is the only one that has a future is nothing but fanboy nonsense and you should know better than that.
