Do you enjoy when people use esoteric gibberish instead of clear terms in order to lengthen a story? Do you like running down a 30-hour long hallway where you can always clearly see the walls? Would you like to avoid ever feeling a sense of accomplishment? Then FF XIII is for you. Built entirely out of questionable design choices, FF XIII is the exciting story of a large group of stock character archtypes running down a path. Sometimes things happen on that path, but don't worry, most of the time they don't! Fun for all ages, and doubles as a coaster when you get bored with it, FF XIII!

People enjoyed it with RE4. Even though FFXIII isn't a TPS, I'm perplexed as to how RE4 was regarded as the best RE ever when it was released and FFXIII is regarded as the worst. The skinny narrow paths didn't seem to be much of a problem in FFX either.
A lot of the time I see complaints about FFXIII and I can understand where they're coming from, but at the same time it seems like many of the flaws in FFXIII are the kind of flaws that are overlooked in other games, yet treated as if Square is a terrible developer if they are within FFXIII.

Final Fantasy is not a game, but a franchise. There is more to Final Fantasy than just the main numbered games.
Just because you think the franchise is "boring" to you does not mean others agree with you.
FFXIII is what it is and we won't change that, but all this hate on FFXIII of some people make other people not even try the game that they eventually can like it, thats what is truly not nice in FFXIII hate

The game itself is okay, but the story is definitely its weakest point. And that for a RPG, a JRPG no less, is killer.
The story never meshed together, it was told in bits and pieces that seems to jump from all over in the timeline. Because of that, at the start it was difficult to follow the dialogue. Gran Pulse was never fully fleshed out, seemed more like an offworld planet instead of the claims of its being an opposing faction to Cocoon.
The good outweighs the bad in FF13, but not enough to hide the flaws.

Thats a point of the story, superstitions and myths of two group of people and how fake they are, this even happen in our world in everyday basis :)
See but the problem with that is as soon as the main cast gets branded, they never questioned their fates for a second and went about their business. Logically there is a lot of things wrong with how the characters react and interact with the worlds.
Did you finish the game yet? Because I did.

Considering each game is different, how does the series get boring?
the story is pretty weak, dont you think? or maybe I should say this has no story at al.What story? FF is a series of games that have no connection (apart from the odd few, and usually they are just centralized on the same world with differing stories).
Are you talking about one game, or the series?
I will say that after looking back on it, the story doesn't really make that much sense. It breaks it's own rules with characters like
Cid Raines.
I think the basic concept is great, and the idea of heroes as some sort of "villains" threatening the world, thrown into an impossible situation where there doesn't seem to be any exit is a great setup for a JRPG. FFX did it very well, and this one seemed to place an even bigger emphasis on the concept, making it key to the story from the beginning. But the follow through is at best "average." FFXIII has it's moments. But as a story, it's not very good.
The basis for the story and the writing of the story itself were done by two different people. It seems like they wanted to tell very different stories, and the result is somewhat of a mess.
People tend to hate whats different. TO me FF13 is a right step in the JRPG genra. It cuts alot of fat out and keeps the goods. The story isint award winning but its still good and by far one of the best battle systems. The VOis great not counting vanile and the characters really arent that bad.People wanted change they got it.Jeez you just cant please people.

Difference in quality of course. The FF franchise is no longer a major contendor in RPGS anymore. It's become shallow.I will say that after looking back on it, the story doesn't really make that much sense. It breaks it's own rules with characters like Cid Raines.

Indeed. I still enjoyed the story though, because it WAS a cool concept, and I enjoyed the characters for the most part. But still, Cid Raines did leave me confused at points. After the first Barthandelous fight is when the story really lost itself for me, and the only other part I liked story-wise after that was Oerba.
Atleast the gameplay opened up and got better once the story kinda lost focus though near the end.

However, I wouldn't call the series shallow, just lacking in certain key areas.
