I wish Saints Row went back to its Roots

with 1 & 2......two was actually neck and neck with gta 4 in my opinion....1 was competitive as well, but 3....smh, then 4 with all of the space nonsense, it reminds of the fifth element

Why? It would've been such a thematically similar game as to have made it more boring.

The fact that it's so off the wall and crazy and different is the only reason it's still around

if it was more like the original then there would be no reason for it to exist with GTA V coming out.

I would've preferred some middle ground between 2 and 3. 

Just buy GTAV if you want Saints Row to be a GTA clone.

well of course, Saints Row 3 came 3 and a half years later...

there werent too many great games before GTAIV.  but after GTAIV was released, then tons of games started flowing out.

Anything that runs around yelling "LOOK AT ME! OMG! I am just so crazy and wild and wacky LOOK HOW AT HOW WACKY I AM!!!!!!!" really annoys the piss out of me. And saints row 3 did that and 4 seems to be doing more of it. Ok ok fine, big purple sex toy bat, they pimped that hard for months as if it were some features. Ok you can shoot octupus heads big deal. SR seems to be more about being goofy and dumb without actually trying to be good. And that is ultimately why I hate it now, because it isnt good, they just focus strictly on being immature. Immature and stupid is good if you can craft it to your will and use it smartly kind of like how southpark used to. Yes southpark was really immature and wacky, but it was also smart and well done.

To me saints row has basically become to tom green of video gaming.

Yeah I agree. The whole aliens and superpower theme in SW 4 really looks dumb.

Going back to its roots would make it a GTA clone again.

I don't get it. It's basically a GTA clone, people complain, it's a ripoff. Screw this game. It decides to move away and start doing it own thing using it's strengths over GTA "wackyness" and it;s a downright disgrace.

I had a blast with SR3. I would get SR4 day one but im waiting on the obvious all dlc version.

I thoroughly enjoyed SR3's slapstick humor and am really enjoying SR4. Imo, I honestly think GTA4 was severely overrated. Never finished the game. I finished SR3 because it was refreshing and funny. I think Voliton was good for giving the Saints Row IP a new identity.
