It'd be the best gaming experience ever. Just admit it. Pokemon Go on the Nintendo NX? In the opinions of millions of people, it could even trump Uncharted or Halo. What do I mean by this? It's simple - everyone is downloading and playing Pokemon Go. Nonetheless, while the previously mentioned games sell millions, they simply haven't caused 1/10th of an impact of what Pokemon has achieved this far.

Love it or hate it, Pokemon Go on the NX should be a thing - in fact, add exclusive Pokemons and functions, such as the ability to through your friend's camera while he's traveling and giving him with potions, Pokeballs, and even your own Pokemons.

Agree? Good. Long live the NX!

PS: Just remember - the PS4 and Xbox One, being strictly home-consoles, simply could not have Pokemon Go ported to them (leaving aside the obvious fact that Pokemon belongs to Nintendo).

Sounds good to me. Would be cool to get updates like Madden does. Can call it Pokemon GO Season 2.

There just is no point to making pokemon go on the NX when everyone already has access to it on their phone. Especially with it users dropping off

@aigis: Kids dont really have access to mobile devices that can play Pokemon GO. Plus you need an Iphone 5+ to run the game which arent cheap.

You might say, but what about tablets. But tablets are usually gifted to kids from government but might need approval to play certain games on it. Plus tablet is not all that portable.

Kids dont need tablets though, then need devices like phones. Nintendo needs to act fast and capitalize. Work a deal to make family phones for kids that can be added to Phone Provider plans.

@iandizion713: ive seen kids with phones and the nx better not be targeted at little kids who are tantruming that they cant play a mobile game. It will probably be dead by march anyways

pls dont be a phone. Dont be stupid Nintendo, there are too many companies already in the phone biz

@aigis: Those kids are our future, without them, gaming dies. You dont think its just old people playing Mario Kart 8, Splatoon, and Smash Bros Wii U do you. Those games cater to the younger audience too.

Nintendo needs to work with Google with one of those cool phones that have all the custom pieces. Its like a custom PC in your hands. Could stream it to your TV or offline using a secondary device.

Then Nintendo and Google can talk to Steam about putting an App on it to play games. This will help bypass Windows and weaken her grip on Steam.

Ditto...kids nowadays definitely have access to mobile phones & definitely ipad they don't need it but they definitely have it.. Pokemon Go on NX is kinda moot. Those who wants to play already are playing it...on phones. :P

If Nintendo makes a phone they will be dead in the water. Casuals wont care and Hardcore wont want anything to do with it. And Steam tried to partner with Sony on the ps3 and that went nowhere. Steam doesnt need Nintendo at this point

@victorgnome: I don't know. Pokemon Go is a F2P SmartPhone game, that's why it did so well. A free game + a device you already own + nostalgia = success. If Pokemon Go had launched on anything other than mobile, it wouldn't have done even half as well, and now been on NX wouldn't matter because everyone who wants to play it already is and won't be buying a separate device for it.

Besides, people are already losing interest in the game. This month alone has seen the game lose 10 million players, at this rate by the time the NX launches the world will have completely forgotten about Pokemon Go.

No, if Niantic is intent on keeping what's left of Pokemon Go alive, they need to sort out the current version. Bring in the features they talked about like battling and trading, Fix the stupid tracker so the game is playable without outside assistance (or stop blocking those apps/websites), Increase the Pokemon encounter rate (I can't tell you how many times on my half hour walk home from work I'll use Go, and even with an Incense on, I'll see just one or two Pokemon max the entire journey), and add more Pokemon so we not running into the same Pidgey and Weedle every time.

Makes no damn sense. You can't carry your NX with you in a backpack while holding a TV in front of you are you look like an idiot.

@Heil68: My company gives me free unlimited high speed data on Pokemon GO. You dont think Nintendo could work out a deal with T-Mobile and dominate the market? Become exclusive to T-Mobile? That would give Nintendo AT&T, Metro PCS, and T-Mobile, major, major blow to its competitors. All they have to do is be the first to give Nintendo free data.

It wont hurt them much, they still make money off the other mobile data games. Plus they make way more then they lose.

Phone companies actually make next to nothing on Pokemon go. It doesnt use that much data so nobody is going over for them to charge and thats why they give these free data gifts to pokemon go players because it lures in people to use their service with little cost to them

I like how the OP is written as if we've seen the NX, and we know what it is and what it's capable of.

Nevermind that putting Pokemon Go on what would likely be a stationary device would kinda get rid of the whole 'Go' aspect.

No. It's already losing appeal and users. It's success is tied to it being a free app, I can't imagine Nintendo releasing free content on the NX.

@nethernova: Sorry, im just reading from the source. It says Pokemon GO runs on Apple Phones 5+. I can confirm it doesnt run good on Iphone 4s also cause i have one. Iphone 4s is not listed on supported devices either, so its expected.

I would love to hear about your Huawei phone though, i can look it up and check. Im always trying to find a cheap phone that is supported by Pokemon GO.

I searched for your phone and as expected its not cheap. It cost bout same price as Iphone 5. Also, if your phone doesnt have a gyroscope, like most cheap phones dont, youll barely be able to play Pokemon GO.

The Huawei Honor 5X, which i guess your talking about, not only cost bout $199, same price just about as the superior Iphone 5 but it haves no gyroscope making it basically useless for Pokemon GO.

@aigis: I cant edit what you quote though. Your the one who edited my comment when you quoted it. But yeah, Steam wants in on the console and mobile business, Apple wants control of PC and Mobile, and Samsung wants Sony and Microsoft out the game. Its a grand big party. Google also wants Microsoft to take a hit and they want in on console, PC, and mobile gaming too.

Its a big war of open vs closed source. They have been fighting for years now.

The gyroscope just allows you to see the Pokemon in your environment. While neat for a few times, it's really not needed (and easier to catch them without). You can still catch Pokemon and visit the stops and gyms. The completely broken tracking system and insistence on the the phone being active and the program in the foreground, draining the battery, to register distance (while doing this poorly as well) have a much greater impact on the gameplay and affect everyone regardless of their phone.

That's done with the GPS to track distance traveled. The gyro is only used for the AR portion so the program knows the orientation of the phone. And actually, the phone is $20 with no contract or even activation needed. Boost is a pay as you go, and it's quite common for Best Buy and other stores to have similar sales on cheap phones like that (I, myself, picked up a cheap one to use as an MP3 player at work and not have to worry about it getting damaged or disappearing since there's no accounts linked and it's cheap). You just need to provide the internet access some other way if you don't want the associated service.

Ya, eggs use gps to calculate how far you walk, I think its just a distance measurement from your current position to where you were a minute ago. My phone doesnt have a gyroscope and I can still hatch eggs.

Pokemon go is bad... flat out a bad game... with a *decent* gimmick.

Why on earth would anyone want Nintendo to waste more time on that empty shell of "video game" when they could make a proper, no-holding back full 3D pokemon on the NX with the years of refined gameplay provided by the Handheld games? Nevermind the fact that even if the NX is portable as we all believe ... it is far too clunky compared to a phone to take around a EVERYWHERE in quite the same fashion.

Logistics? no

Gameplay? no?

A casual phone game.... where as the NX has the potential for that 3D pokemon game that fans have dreamed of (hell build up on it with expansions/all XXX ammount of pokemon over time) where its portable enough to still be somewhat similar to the handheld for PvP/trading.

I'd rather the latter. Pokemon Go is barely a game. its a very bad one at that.

@aigis: Thats pretty cool then. Hopefully kids dont care for the AR mode enough to care. I know it seems like AR is a gimmick, but seeing the scale of Pokemon compared to other real world objects is amazing.

Seeing a small Rattata the size of your sneaker and then seeing a Gyarados the size of your house is pretty groundbreaking.

@aigis: I agree, i enjoy the stealth of turning off the AR mode. Kids im not so sure though, they might enjoy AR a lot.
