Yeah I would, if it had good games. It would probably be the most attractive console out there, but it would cost a lot. However, if the games and features justified the price, I'd buy it.

Games never did because Macs aren't for gaming, Apple have never been interested in it. Features however do justify the price of Macs, the operating system is the best out there.
My Iphone is pretty bad ass so I definitely would consider it. It's too late for them to come in this generation but, maybe the next generation.

i wouldn't call it the best. it's just more stable than vista. XP is still the best operating system on the market. features never did justify the price of macs. they are dollar for dollar more expensive than comparably spced pcs. pc's also have the luxury of being the most complaint with 3rd party software.
I'd buy it, Apple might be expensive but you can bet the hardware in an Apple console would trump anything developed by Microsoft or Sony, plus I would feel safer with an Apple console since the hardware is more reliable then x360 and PS3. I don't think they would have any problems with games since developers know Apple has a huge consumer base with it's products and people go nuts whenever Apple releases a new product. But in the end I just don't see Apple getting into the console business.

Leopard is far better than XP, I use both everyday and the features do justify the price. What also justifies the price is the quality of the workmanship and materials, they cost a lot to make so they have to cost a lot to buy. Macs are unrivalled in terms of build quality and design, that is why they cost more then your average PC made from cheap plastic.
I'm not about to buy a system that's more shiny than it is useful. Don't get me wrong, Apple products work, but they're overpriced for what they do.
Not if it was the last console in the world. I just can not stand Apple and there overpriced products.DuckyindianaThis.
I would not buy an Apple Console, but I would not buy a 360, PS3 or Wii right now so it is nothing personal against Apple.

this entire post is full of fail.
apple uses the same hardware as a windows computer and they over charge for them.
apple has some of the worst hardware reliability. exploding laptops and ipods, iphones that get discolored from the heat it generates, laptops that come from the manufacturer corrupt (look at the mac pro; it had pink and green vertical line all over the screen from poor quality control), apple tries to silence the consumer when their hardware malfunctions (which happens quite a lot).
most game devs don't even make games for the mac because whats the point of spending millions of dollars making a game for only a few hundred users to buy. windows is a better proposition because it controls the majority of the OS business.
apple users go nuts over apple products because they don't know any better. they don't realize that apple competitors put out hardware with more features at a lower price.
apple is a joke of a company and the only reason anyone buys anything from them is because of their marketing team.

Apples are far from "problem free". With Ubuntu, you can customize every aspect of your user experience and it doesn't take a computer genius to do so. There are thousands of simple, step by step guides all over the place. Ubuntu is faster, more secure, and more capable than OSX. Anything you can do in OSX, I can do more quickly and with less hassle. This is what Ubuntu was capable over a YEAR ago, and that's not at all difficult to set up if you want to put in the time.[QUOTE="Asim90"]

I'll go with the overpriced, underpowered comment. I've had an iBook for years, and that's exactly how I felt about it. And applications crashed on OS X all the time, something which rarely happens on my XP PC. I happily left Apple and got a PC. I find Gnome (on Ubuntu) just as user-friendly and feature-filled as OS X. I have no love for Apple. But if they want to make a handheld gaming-only device, I might consider. Just depends on third-party support.

I think we can agree Apple is a different company now. I was not a fan of any Apple product back when they were making multi-colored IMacs. Even early Macbooks had problems but Apple is arguably the most improved electronics hardware and software company of the last decade. They're products are of high build quality, offer intuitive interfaces, superior performance and are massivly innovative and energy efficient. Some of their products are still overpriced (mini mac, arguably IMac) but they are high quality products. Most people on this forum are bred anti-Apple based on the fact that their computers aren't "game friendly." There is no denying that Apple is a top tier hardware and software devolper and a new console would reflect that.
I would buy an apple console, I own a Macbook and an ipod touch and they work a hell of a lot better than anything else I have used, and how can anyone argue quality issues with the xbox 360 the way it is, I have had 2 xboxs bricked by the red ring, that is two to many. Great job microsoft:roll:

the discoloring was due to a combination of heat and a case. we are both right on that one.
if you compare dollar for dollar a pc and a mac, yes the mac is underpowered.
osx as been around for nearly 10 years, it's not running better on last gen hardware, it's running normally on it's initial hardware. big difference.
the same people that you talk abuot that don't upgrade their macs for 5 years are the same ones who only use it to check email or type up documents. the same can be said for some windows users. vista was the only os that required a bump to new hardware because it was a complete overhaul of the os. the same was true when apple went from osx9.1 to osx 10 and then again when they went from powerpc's to intels.
macs are not the only computers or electronics to fail. true. but you can't say that apple has better build quality when it fails just as much as everyone else's computers.
apple users go nuts for apple because of the marketing. remember their "think different" campaign? everyone who uses macs think that they're special but what they fail to realise is that their being ripped off. so indeed they are thinking different because the average person has the common sense to realise when their being ripped off (except for those who shop at best buy.)

people choose windows because you get more for your money than an apple and no apple does not have "quality builds" as you keep stating. they are as cheaply built as any computer out there. have you forgot about the overheating issues, the discoloration from light use, the screen and general hardware defects? apple has computers made out of metal. big freaking whoop. you can get better designed pcs for less or the same price as an apple and it will have better specs than the mac.
the wii sucks.
you want to talk about bugs and glitches? how about the ability for a hacker to hack into an iphone with just a text message? hows that for a glitch?

You mean that glitch that was fixed last week. its obvious you dislike apple and that the fact that many can a test to the sturdyness of an apple build and you just keep posting crap. Nothing except for the Palm Pre competes with the Iphone in intuitiveness and ease of use
no i mean that glitch that shouldn't have been there in the first place. you can't claim that apples os's are glitch free when they're clearly not. as for the last part, t-mobile G1, htc touch, touch pro, touch diamond, touch hd, blackberry storm. hell my lg vu has tv and the iphone doesn't.
We set up the htc touches and diamonds at work, and they are crap. The touchscreen is gimmicky at best. And good for you that your phone has tv, Just like Japanese phones it has all these features, that are 1. Not necessary, 2. Not all of them work properly.

apple users go nuts for apple because of the marketing. remember their "think different" campaign? everyone who uses macs think that they're special but what they fail to realise is that their being ripped off. so indeed they are thinking different because the average person has the common sense to realise when their being ripped off (except for those who shop at best buy.)
You know at work i get headaches from my machine, error this, no rights this, click twice for something i should have gone thought the first time. Typing in the hidden wireless SSID for the 5th time and hoping it goes through this time. And just general annoying features of Windows. yet when i go home i have no troubles. its all simple clicks and it works, sure sometimes things dont work but they are far and few between compared to Windows. and the native apple software works. for that alone i am more than happy to pay extra, to save myself the headache

you look at phones side by side at work, good for you. the iphone does indeed like features that other phones have. the iphone costs you more than most phones (save for the blackberrys). tv is not necessary but it is useful when your waiting in line. the tv works properly, you just need to be able to receive the signal from AT&T.

Yes for some strange reason you Yanks got ripped off on the Iphone. In Australia it is very cheap and on some planes you can get it for free, for instance i have a free 32GB iPhone on a $114 unlimited plan with 2GB data usage. I agree with you on the apple being a console maker would suck, but i will agree to disagree with you on the Mac/OS X topic as that is based on personal preference. Its funny to hear about the difference between the mobile networks between countries. for instance all our video in Australia is over the mobile networks, and we even get pay tv on our mobiles

those "annoyances" you speak of are part of the security features in vista. if an unauthorized file tries to execute a file without your permission, you will be prompted and allowed to terminate the operation. it's bothersome but the chances of catching viruses are lowered. windows 7 will have the ability to turn that feature off if it bothers you.
of course the native apple software works, apple wrote it into the os. btw, those same programs can fail as well. macs are not as impervious as your making them out to be.

But in the end I just don't see Apple getting into the console business.

this entire post is full of fail.
apple uses the same hardware as a windows computer and they over charge for them.
apple has some of the worst hardware reliability. exploding laptops and ipods, iphones that get discolored from the heat it generates, laptops that come from the manufacturer corrupt (look at the mac pro; it had pink and green vertical line all over the screen from poor quality control), apple tries to silence the consumer when their hardware malfunctions (which happens quite a lot).
most game devs don't even make games for the mac because whats the point of spending millions of dollars making a game for only a few hundred users to buy. windows is a better proposition because it controls the majority of the OS business.
apple users go nuts over apple products because they don't know any better. they don't realize that apple competitors put out hardware with more features at a lower price.
apple is a joke of a company and the only reason anyone buys anything from them is because of their marketing team.
Actually your post is full of fail. The discolouring from the iphone was from the case it was in. Once the iphone was taken out of its case and rubbed down with alcohol the discolouring disappeared. Apple doesn not have the worst hardware reliability, the only thing underpowered in Macs is the GPU the rest is all up to date. And the Os X operating system can run a hell of a lot better on last gen hardware then what any windows operating system can on hardware that is twice as power full. Look around you will realise it is not uncommon for people to keep their Macs for 5 years + as they are durable and the operating system isnt a pile of crap. As for the hardware faults, every manufacture has hardware faults, stop trying to make out like Macs are the only ones prone to it.
Apple users go nuts over apple products because their are non like it. Iphone, Macbook Pros, iMacs. everything in the operating system just works. I switched in 2006 and boy am i glad i did. I have no problem paying extra for something i will keep for a hell of a lot longer then i would a **** box windows pc.
1000% agreed.
