If both GT5P and MGS4 flop, does that mean X360 has the better 2008 lineup?

1. No. There are so many other great titles out there. Killzone 2 will probably be better than Gears 2 as well.

Of course GT5P didn't flop, its a DEMO. And introduction of a game. Imagine if this DEMO got 7.5 whit 70 cars and 6 tracks, How much wil score the complete game with 1,000 cars and 20 tracks and car damage

The argument is the Xbox has more games with a AAA pedegree this year. 360 has three and the PS3 has one.

You guys can think what you want. My opinion is that PS3's line-up is the best, and 360's is okay.

MGS4 can get an average review score of 1.5 and it will still sell millions and millions of copies. (IMO, if it sells millions and millions of copies, it is not a flop)
GT5:P has been getting better scores than most full race games and its a demo, so GT5 will probably be pretty damn good.

Cows have been giving their 2008 lineup a lot of hype but it's still very similar to Xbox 360's lineup. Both systems have many of the same games with a few different exclusives here and there. Now that Gran Turismo 5 Prologue has flopped, if MGS4 flops, does that means cows lose 2008 to Xbox 360? Those 2 games were hyped a lot and if they both fail to get near AAA, that probably leaves 360 and PS3 with roughly the same library. MGS4 is by FAR the biggest exclusive this year, by far (in terms of hype). GTAIV is by far the biggest game this year. Guess which system is getting both of these. I don't usually make such system specific praises, but in this case I felt the need.

Those are the only two major games right now for any system that are coming out in the next couple of months that we know a lot about, so at the moment, I think it's hard to make defined statements for the entire year for any platform.

Gears 2 will eclipse it in hype and sales. It has a better release date and the MS marketing machine will get behind it.

you might not like MS and what they do...but one thing they do extremely well is market there products...you will see them put that wheel in motion months before the release date.....just like H3 and all the tools they utilized.. i would expect the same with GOW2

not to mention, crash bandicoot 1, which got 6.8 on GS, yet was the most purchased PSone game, at one time, with FF7, and GT1 in 2nd and 3rd place, and was only succeded by Crash 2, which soon because #1, and im pretty shure, that was succeded by Crash warped. neither of those got more than 9.0(crash)

What I want to know is, why is it that when "lemmings" teased the game calling it "a $40 demo" cows said "It's not a demo. It's a PROLOGUE. You know, like a game BEFORE the game!".

But when it failed to score AAA, suddenly it was "Of course it didn't flop, it's a DEMO".

I have never in my life seen flip-flopping like that anywhere outside of American politics. And so quick too; it was over the course of less than a week where it was like cows sent out a memo to each other saying "Ok, when GT5p comes up, it's a DEMO now, OK?".

1) Doubt Killzone 2 will be better in terms of its review but we'll see. But you are right that there are many other great titles for the PS3 in 08

MGS4 first showed off in 2005, its been 3 years and the game is still not out.

I already think the 360 has the better lineup...it's easily the most diverse and i think that software sales for the 360 will still be great regardless of any flops (and i really don't think there will be any big or unexpected flops this year).

MGS4 is the most hyped, the most important, the most potential to be the first AAAE, the most potential to be the PS3s first killer app, so there's a 10 thousand pound boulder on MGS4's shoulders. This game alone is the highlight of the PS3 2008 game line up. So if MGS4 does not get AAAE, then yes you can consider that the worse flop in gaming history, making the PS3 the worse gaming console at the time with the most flops. But I can't see MGS4 flopping, but if it does, I wouldn't be suprise.

Ofc it will, Damage, plus more cars, costumization(this alone is huge), more tracks, clean out whatever problems they have in prologue

I don't see how GT5P has flopped, it's a demo and it was reviewed as one, I don't think even hardcore cows expected it to get like anything above an AA, so A is hardly a flop. Plus like Snow said, you're assuming 360 games won't flop.

Its a demo compared to a Gran Turismo type of a game, and what game is not a demo compared to GT, that game will last you for a year, A Spec lasted me a year before I finished it 100%, Prologue compared to other racers can be considered a full game, any NFS title can be called a demo compared to GT, the game was better than I expected playing the in car view on a big tv, is a sight to behold, multiplayer is nice, and the single player is not short either, well worth my 39.99$, BTW play the london track in full 1080 in car view your jaws will hit the floor.deniiiii21

hook up a g25 to the game and you will see the real beauty of gt5p. Microsoft will never be able to compete with it if they don't start letting companies like logitech wheels be supported.
