Love the Sig btw, can't wait.
I would'nt, but I still would buy it for some of my family members.
The only advantage of a console EVER is the ease of use really, but that advantage is worth its weight in gold to some people, and thus makes it worth it.
There are genres I refuse to play on PC aswell, but those genres seem to be dwindeling somewhat this gen.
Yeah, I don't feel like building/ buying a gaming PC. Besides, the fact of the matter is that consoles have exclusives and always will.

that's much less of a reason to stick to a system than what the product offers that others don't in terms of software. when all systems are essentially the same, the differences are too small and eventually some systems would die out. then again, it's a scenario so absurd it's hard to picture. oh and thanks. though the text part is more just nagging the whiny fanboys :PAn HTPC is usually too weak to run games. What if some company marketed a $199 HTPC running Windows with custom UI where you control everything with a controller.
Would some people buy it to couch game?
Also note I have not voted yet and probably won't.

If PC's stayed the same price then yeah I'd still play on consoles. I simply can't afford a PC and why pay several thousand dollars to get a PC when I could get a console for a few hundred and then a bunch of games and only be at about a thousand dollars total.

The same could be done for the PC.
True. But if I'm gonna have a PC, I want it to be good and for me not to have to worry about it being horribly behind and ancient a year after I get it.

I still don't understand people's ignorance. An 8800GTX from 2007 can still play MANY games maxed out. And simply ANY multiplatform game will run at more than double the resolution of the console version. Sure, gaming on PC can be a hassle for many people due to the lack of technical know-how. After all, not everyone's a computer enthusiast. But why spread this ignorance all over? Horribly behind and ancient an year after you get it? That won't happen even if you buy a low end one.[QUOTE="M13L13S"][QUOTE="lundy86_4"]

There's the thought of spending that much money and then not putting it to use or buying a crappy one that can't do what I want. Also I lack said money.
But you are right. I was missinformed. I'm not big into PC stuff yet so I didn't realize your points. Thank you for the enlightenment. No sarcasm intended.

Fair enough. I stuck $1700 into mine and i'm only just thinking about upgrading almost 4 years in. Not too shabby.

Sorry if I sounded like a jerk. :( Just a bit sick of hearing the same "OMG 1 DON'T HAVE $2000 FOR GAM1NG PC11!!!" from trolls all the time.[QUOTE="M13L13S"][QUOTE="starjet905"]I still don't understand people's ignorance. I don't disrespect the PC as a legit platform and I have no doubt there's a lot of fun to have on the PC. Personally I want one for BF3 and Minecraft. If I had the money, I'd definitely have one and be working on it and stuff.
My views are also affected by my friend who's in college who has the best PC money can buy, programs his own game for fun, and owns thousands of dollars in high end programs. If my PC wasn't near that it'd just seem like it sucked.

It's not bad. It's struggling on many newer games (running TOR at 30fps/1080p on an e8400/4870), so it's gonna need an upgrade soon.
What you just said is kinda why I stay with consoles. I like being able to play new games right out of the gate at their "optimal" settings without upgrades or downloading drivers.

The good thing is that you'll likely be playing at higher than console settings. Naturally, it comes with maintaining on open system. Many updates are automatic, but some do require manual installation (such as GPU drivers).
Consoles certainly come with that ease of use. It's one of the reasons I use them as well as my PC.

The PC/keyboard combo owuld be a hurdle to get over too lol.

Again, no. Plug in a gamepad of your choice. :D Something like the PS3 controller would take a little bit of work, but plug in a 360 controller for example, and you're good to go. I myself prefer the PS3 controller over the X360 controller, but only use that for driving and fighting games. All other, I use K/M. But of course, upto personal choice.....read my post again lol... Why would you have a last gen PC?Because I haven't had more than 2 or 3 PC games peak my interest since the new consoles launched, I haven't felt the "need" to upgrade for 2 or 3 games. I plan to this upcoming year in all honesty, gotta upgrade for Diablo 3. I know it'll prolly run on modest hardware but since I have to upgrade anyway and my PC is SO old, might as well build a whole new PC :)[QUOTE="Spartan070"]

$1700 for 4 years? Damn, couldnt do it, and i DO have the dough to spare. Thats about what I spent on the last 6 consoles to release combined, and once new consoles come out, they won't need upgrading, they just move down the shelf and become classics. :) I do plan on building one this year but my price range is going to be $550-$800 or so.
People will still buy them for their multiplats and to have a multimedia device in their lounge.
The only thing that will change is the lessened incentive to own more than one console.
Plus non-cross platform multiplayer will keep them afloat to play with friends who also own that platform; they wont be pointless like what hermits say.
There's no point. I have a PC in the livingroom -> Anything on the PC can go onto the TV.
So all that consoles have to offer me are exclusives. Their extra expensive limited services outside of gaming are not for me.
i got the consoles primarily to be able and enjoy their exclusives.. If we only had multiplats i'd just game on my PC where games look/perform better...
This. Exact same thing for me. Demon's/Dark Souls were the only games I really put some time into.Nope, even with the exclusives I don't play on them that much.
