If they all had the same games, which console would you buy? (everything else staying the same)

Im confuse...... You mean if exclusives like Uncharted, Halo, Mario didnt exist OR if all the existing exclusive were just multiplats? Either way I guess I would go with the PS3 cuz of Free online
I voted Wii for the lulz, since exclusives are the sole reason to own it :P
In reality I'd get the 360 if all consoles had the same games, usually gets DLC first, usually better multiplats, more of my friends have it.
Yeah I like the *take my money for online use* feature.Easily the 360. I find the UI far better, as well as software integration and things like party chat. It has a lot of great features.

You do? I think everybody loves that feature. /Sarcasm.
Regardless, I didn't state it as one of my favourite features. Still, even with having to pay for Live, i'd take it over the PS3.
Consoles... PC... Wut?
I voted for the 360 without even looking at the options  PC-->360-->PS3-->Wii.
What else is new? :PA PC (for better control in MMO's, mods and 64 player Battlefield 3)
And a random console. Probably the one I spend the least money on, so either an Xbox 360 that comes bundled with Live, or a PS3 that comes bundled with games. Hard to say, at this point if the next consoles are due by 2013, then I'd only pay for one year of Live before the next gen, but then it depends on whether I want a crappy Arcade Xbox or a normal one.
Either way I don't have to worry about this scenario, and I've got the systems so I'm good for now.

Duuuuuuuuude... No.
[QUOTE="lundy86_4"]Yeah I like the *take my money for online use* feature. I spend 5x more than that a year in 7-11 coffee, its really not that much...Easily the 360. I find the UI far better, as well as software integration and things like party chat. It has a lot of great features.
RickTophen
Why would you need two if there were no exclusives? :oSame ones I already did, PS3 and PC. Don't want to pay to use internet I already have to pay for.
Kiro0
If consoles had no exclusives probably people would just get the 'cheapest' console if they are tight on their budget or else go for a nice gaming PC..

SO if someone came up to you everyday and held a gun to you and took say 2.00$ every day...nothing more...just 2$..is that ok because its less then most cups of coffee?
pc? anyone saying otherwise is just a fanboy, you can use kb/m or xbox controller on pc, its ten times better, the only reason consoles still exist are exclusives

Worst analogy ever?
PS3
Blu-ray, bluetooth controllers rechargable out of the box, free online
I'm all about not having hidden costs and being milked to get the full capability out of my console.

Sounds like someone that doesn't understand the power of compound interest. No thanks, I'd rather invest and watch my money grow than throw it away on frivilous expenses like designer coffee and cross-party chat.

$1.29 7-11 coffee is designer? :lol:Seriously, if you can't afford to spare $60 a year for a hobby, don't have that hobby.
$60 shouldnt bankrupt anyone...compound interest, wtf?
My suv payment is $372.16 a month, lol at $60 a year.

I'm guessing your savings is pretty poor. I have no car payments on an '08 Camry (the wife's) and an '09 Accord because I don't waste money. I spend $.25 on a cup of coffee out of the machine at work, I spend $0 a year to play online, and I put 23% of my salary into a investment account so I can quit working in my 50s.
$60 a year, for the length of this generation is $300. Had you invested that $300 for retirement, played games online for free instead, your $300 would have grown to over $3,000 (assuming 8% , which is quite reasonable). Yeah, compound interest.
It isn't about not being able to afford the $60, it's about the opportunity cost. That's a round of golf. That's a lift ticket. That's a bag of weed. That's a nice meal out with my wife that I don't have to spend because I get online for free. Not to mention the other nickel-and-diming Microsoft gets you with. Seriously, is gaming your only hobby? If so, you aren't very well rounded.

Actually... the cost would be $310 if you purchased XBL from the beginning until now (5 yrs of XBL x 50 + 1 yr of XBL @ 60). The problem is, there's always a "work-around" with XBL and most hardcore gamers will find a discount (not saying a "casual" gamer can't do the same).
For example, I paid $39 for XBL the week after the price inflated to $60. The year prior I received a gift card which I used for XBL, So I didn't pay a cent. So how does my situation add into that calculation?
Ok and as far as the PS3.. If you take someone who purchased the original PS3 (upon it's launch), you're taking about $600. Now subtract the cost of the XB 360 at launch + XBL for four years and you'd be dead even. So in essence that XB 360 gamer only spent $110 more than the same PS3 gamer. And should I even bring up the cost of PSN+ ?
The bottom line is.. the current generation of gamers have been spending A LOT more than previous generations across the board. No one console gamer is getting less "shafted" than another..

I'm single.
I make decent money.
I have no kids.
I have plenty of savings(could pay off the entire principle on my truck tommorow if I wanted to).
I don't drink, smoke, do drugs or have any other money-consuming hobby other than gaming and buying a new guitar every 6-7 years.
My other hobbies don't cost anything, I have a home gym, I run, I practice Kenjutsu, I play music, I read books, I watch sports, I play basketball.
I'll be fine thanks.
Hm... good question, actually. My knee-jerk reaction was PC if I could get every game out there on one platform, but then I'd be screwed whenever I went somewhere with no internet access (which happens pretty often when you're in the army) since just about every PC game nowadays is tied to Steam. While it does have an offline mode, it only seems to work half of the time. I guess I'd go with PC while I'm home with constant internet, and a PS3 when I don't.
