Comparing high end graphics now is like comparing two million dollar Ferraris of the same model and saying one is better because it has a tiny bit more shine in the paint because it isn't as dirty.

As for me I won't care I have both consoles and don't understand the petty bickering over which is better. I purchase both because they both offer some great exclusives I don't think one is better than the other as for graphics neither can out do a PC with a good video card that's my opinion

Gears of War 2 came out late 2008. Killzone 2 came out early 2009 and topped it, that was less than a year. Months and months later came Uncharted 2 which looked better than both games, but so far nothing has topped Uncharted 2 and we're getting closer and closer into 2011.

I'm sure Gears3 can top Uncharted 2, I mean, when you are working with a color palette that only includes all shades of grey and brown, you free up resources for other stuff. Still, after the fiasco from the overshopped Gears2 screenshots I doubt this will be the case.

As much as I like PS3 and Uncharted 2, this sounds like preemptive damage control.
Graphics between the consoles are a tiny difference... Seriously if graphics were a number then the PS3 would have 100 "graphics" and the xbox probably 103 "Graphics"... Basic analogy but it's not all about raw power... PS3 architecture is much better suited to fluid dynamics compared to the xbox, meaning water effects not just splashes and ripples but full on weight and physics of water are much easier to achieve without much effect... But obviously lighting and shading is better on xbox, just depends on the style used by the developer which determines how a game looks, it aint all resolution and detail.

So I decided to just make an account and come in, I was curious about this and posted it right after I registered.

Gears of War 2 came out late 2008. Killzone 2 came out early 2009 and topped it, that was less than a year. Months and months later came Uncharted 2 which looked better than both games, but so far nothing has topped Uncharted 2 and we're getting closer and closer into 2011. MGS4 looks better then Gears 2 and it came out before... It won best graphics pretty much everywhere, Gamespot, IGN, Spike...
I don't see why people keep thinking the 360 will be graphics king. Even if a game comes out and looks better than anything on the PS3 cows won't allow it to be graphics king. Simple.

Would it really be that sad? I mean PS3 fanboys preach that 360 is not as powerful as the PS3, and I think most people would agree in SOME WAY!
360 matching or surpassing Uncharted 2 is excellent for the 360. RAGE impresses me the most though, want to see more of that.

Who cares if it does, really the differences in graphics in consoles is really not that much. It' sad when I see so many graphics threads by consolites , if your so worried about graphics get a PC.

What would happen if Gears 3 beat U2 in graphics? Life would continue on. U2 is pretty hard to beat though even today, some of the textures are scary good. I just stared at a log once in the Borneo level cause it looked so detailed :shock:
