That is a stupid idea. Given that neither game is out yet, and we thus have little idea as to what the gameplay mechanics will be like (the playable Forza 3@E3 was presumably not a finished product, and GT5: Prologue is more of a taster than a direct sample) you can't possibly be so resolute as to believe that Forza will definitely, without a doubt, be a better game than GT5. For one thing, they will likely be different enough to appeal to people in different ways i -i.e. subjectivity will come into play, just like any other goddamn game review.

From this, I come to the conclusion that you are just a massive fanboi. To LEAVE the forums based on a rating that doesn't agree with your opinion achieves nothing. Okay, if the review went against the rest of humanity, I could see your point. This, however, is not going to happen. I imagine that even if they released the same game engine, coded such that it ran exactly the same on both consoles (or at least as close as to give no noticeable or significant difference), and only changed the general look of the game, by altering menus etc, you would still vehemently argue that Forza was the best by far. Both will be good games.

The primary reason I made this thread was because of my confidence. We know F3 will not get below a 9.2 considering F1 and F2 both got 9.2s and F3 is expanding on EVERYTHING from F2. I can easily see GT5 scoring below a 9.2 and expect it to score a solid 9.0, with F3 getting a 9.4shadow8585

This. You have to take the score at the time the game as released as its score for all time - when GT3 came it, it WAS a 9.1 game. By the time Forza came out, it wouldn't have been - but only due to the gained experience of devs working with their hardware, etc. It's not fair to say Fora "destroyed" GT3, since it came out afterwards and should at least have the potential to be the better game.

Same goes for GT4/GT3. GT3 has the higher score, but in absolute terms GT4 is definitely the better game. When talking scores with several years in between them - even from the same gen' - you can't take that time difference into account, you have to take them as absolute, otherwise you may as well not bother, because there is no sure method of taking that time difference into account. Given that GT5 and Forza will be coming out at the same time, ish, we should be able to freely compare their scores - though since they probably won't be reviewed by the same person under the same conditions, it's still not entirely fair, bringing us right back round the the fact of subjectivity meaning that the worst game in the world to you could, legimately, be the best game in the world to me.

Why would I compare them? I'm not here to argue which franchise is better. I'm saying that the statement made by the TC about forza destroying every GT game ever made was false which it is.

FM 1 beat Gt 4 but neither Forzas beat GT3 score wise. Standards are irrelevant here.
