If Halo Reach is Next Years Big Xmas Title, then is GeoW3 going to be for 720?

My Title says it all, but I find it very unlikely that we will find ourselves with a GeoW and a Halo in the same Holiday season, even if a few months apart.

EPIC took two years constructing GeoW for Xmas 2006, then two years later, gave us GeoW2 Xmas 2008. So, it makes sense that we will see GeoW3 next Xmas, but then again, they made need an additional year to get the game sparkling on the next platform.

Also, the Next Xbox, should have a killer app lined up, what do you guys think?

A new GeoW or Halo would definitely help sell the 720 (or what ever they call it).

I think MS should save Gears of War 3 for their next console.

Well while i'd love EPIC to release Geow3 next year on the 360 I have a strong feeling it might get released on the next MS console (or maybe go multiplat cause i dont think MS owns the IP)

Definately possible. Say such as, Geow 3 > Geow 3 ODST > Geow Reach. something like that maybe. :P

I don't think there will be any new consoles until at least 2012. This generation has proved to be so successful that I think all three companies will hold off new consoles a little longer this time around. Sony especially probably won't release the PS4 until 2013 or 2014.

Anyway, I think Gears 3 should come out on the 360. I hate it when the third installmen in a franchise gets put off until the next gen (Halo 3, Metroid Prime 3, God of War III). I think it would be cool for a videogame trilogy to make it all on one console for once.

No. With MS planning on Natal extending the 360's lifespan at least a couple of years (meaning that short of Natal being an unmitigated disaster, the Xbox 3 won't be out until holiday 2012 at the earliest), it'll leave the holiday 2011 release window for Gears 3. Plus it allows Epic to finish the Gears storyline this gen, and then release a potentially multiplat Gears spin-off+UE4 when the Xbox 3/PS4/Wii 2 are released.

*sigh* Gears, Halo, Gears, Halo, Gears+Halo. I love my gears and halo but it seems as if MS just keeps on relying with one or the other each year as their main dish. I dont see how they expect to push more consoles like that.

I personally hope we finish the GeoW arc on one console. Im expecting to be a late adopter next gen and want to play it straight away.

This is about using what we have learned about the Xbox Division, and speculating on what we think will actually happen, NOT what I actually want. It would be dandy if the 720 doesn't come out until 2014 with the PS4 and WiiWii in 2014, but I don't think that will happen at all.

I agree, and I hope so too, but Their Promises don't include Halo's. They said support, and that can come in any form. For all we know, they meant support with Scene It's, Lipses, XBLA, and Natal. But I'm with you as far as what I want.

Naw, the next generation of Xbox is 2 years out (if MS does another full generation).

Epic has stated that UE 4 is due for the next generation of consoles expected to start in 2012.

Gears is front loaded in November so how would it be a Xmas title? Thanksgiving/black friday would be a better fit.
