After tons of debating, I am going to break down and buy a 360. Yes, I bashed them in the past, but a 360 is in my budget and I know that they will be around for a long time to come especially after selling 10,000,000 + systems. I can't afford to buy both a HDTV and a 360 right now. I have a nice 32" Sharp SDTV. Will that do me until I can buy a HDTV later on? JDW_games

I play my bros on my SDTV all the time and it works perfectly fine so YES you can play it on an SDTV and it will still look great. It will obviously not look as super as on an HDTV but that is just a matter of degrees of difference.

Get it and enjoy it on your SDTV.

I've seen someone say that twice now but...I though ALL monitors were HD?

Check out these from Dell (500-600 range for a very nice model, you can use for both PC and Console):

So 500 dollars + tax simply for color enhancement?

No, it's a HUGE improvment over a standard TV and CRT monitor, plus it produces higher res than HDTV, Widscreen, and ultimately a much better picture. If you price range is around 500-600 bucks, that's your model. HP has some great models as well.

Yes, they are all HD. "HD" is more of a buzz word for TV's, which a monitor is anyway.

No, you don't need an HDTV to enjoy teh grafix.  I enjoy them just fine on my SDTV.

HD, to me, is extremely overrated for the price they're asking me to pay.

You do not need it, but it is a really nice thing to have. If you are willing to spend that kind of money then you should.

Yeah it still looks pretty good.

It's funny but most 360 owners I know don't have a HDTV or HD moniter connected to them..and most of them don't have Xbox Live either :/

Pretty much. Otherwise you will be playing Xbox 1 with new games. Can't wait for people to come and try to argue this.

At least use a monitor, as it will look so much better than a standard TV. If you want the full experience in my opinion, you really need a nice screen, although it doesn't have to be large, just nice. mismajor99
agreed.

Not really but you should. The 360 is a High def console and it's all about the graphics. I played Gears at my friends house and it was fun but the graphics did not blew me away, since he didnt have a HDTV.

Well remember Microsoft and Sony are giving you the option unlike Nintendo....Anyways 90% of games still look good and next gen in standard so it's not a essential i mean Gears of War still looks like Gears in standard def, HDTVs are just there to enhance the overall presentational awe, you will still be wowed in standard def, trust me.
