...would you still be playing Tomb Raider?

Let's all be truthful to ourselves. The very reason that this video game series sold was because Lara had a slim figure and was dressed in short shorts. I'll agree, it had some nice gameplay to go along with it too, but the primary reason it sold was because she was quite a looker, so to speak.

Imagine, if Lara Croft was Larry Croft instead. And just in an instant, this game would be even more niche than it is now, and with no sequels forthcoming.

And no doubt, I will be purchasing Tomb Raider Underworld. Short shorts and wet t-shirts FTW!

I disagree. Tomb Raider and two were solid games that created a new genre nobody ever played before. Sure, they have since really tried banking in on Laura's figure, but that started AFTER the games became popular. They just started off as solid games.

As for why they are still going...there are a lot of stupid people out there who will only buy what they are familiar with or what they've played before. Like the people who have a game collection consisting of nothing more than 20 madden titles. TR has sucked for years now and there is no reason the public should still be supporting it.

I agree with you that Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider 2 were awsome games. I still remember the T-Rex scene in the first one, man were my friends screaming. But as for you comment on how it "created a new genre nobody ever played before" I think that might be streatching it.

Tomb Raider wasnt the 1st game to involve treasure hunting or Indiana Jones esc.. adventuring, Pitfall did that way before Tomb Raider. It also wasnt the first game to have 3D platforming. It was a fun game but orignal it was not. It however did definatly convince devs that they can have a female main character in their games, with the right...ahem..figure of course.

Are you honestly going to compare Pitfall to Tomb Raider? Tomb Raider was definitely the first game of its kind at the time. It wasn't just a platformer, or an Indiana Jones ripoff.

I never said ripoff, my point is that I wouldnt call the game 100% original. Its hard not to ignore the huge influences both of those pieces of media had on this game. Obviously it did it better and even surpassed PitFall when it made the 3D jump. But that doesnt matter it was a great game for the PS1 and I miss its greatness.

Resisting temptation. Musn't say it! But it rhymes so well! Sigh, oh well I'd rather not get moderated. Anyway isn't Uncharted similar to Tomb Raider? It had a male lead did it not? It did quite well I think.

But... You could stick a human in between her melons! :

sam280992

they totaly ruined her imo (I know she always was rather "big"). But they overdid it this time..

It's even worse than DOA's "physics"

In Soul Calibur 4... What would happen if you punched her in the... "Chest" Would she explode?

nothing happens:P

but they should have included something like that. Or a different "special" grab move

Yeah... She grabs the person and sticks their head between her breasts and their head will come out like a pancake... It could be critical finisher!

Lmfao:lol: this conversation is just to f****** epic.
