If MGS4 came out this year, it would still get GOTY!

In it's current state, no chance in hell, the polish in some games nowadays is really high.

However, if they fixed things like Graphics and made a better multiplayer element, oh and reduce the installment times, then yeah, it could be at least contender, since the game is still great.
