Would there be any point to owning a Wii?

Imagine X-Sports, a high definion, more fleshed-out version of Wii Sports that supports full Xbox Live online multiplayer capabilities...

You know they're working on it. Its just a matter of putting together a controller that doesn't infringe on Wiimote patents. I expect something out this holiday season.

The best of both worlds.. awesome Xbox 360 graphics, sound, power, combined with the Wiimote-style controls. I can play my Gears 2, AND a souped up Wii Sports / Boom Blox..

I would have to say The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion does in fact look better han Gears of War.

For only $500 more, your Oblivion will look slightly better then these console versions.

You do have an excellent point. I know everyone will hate you for it, but, graphics and multiplayer with motion sensing is a hit. The haters will whine and cry, but, if Microsoft releases a motion control saber, IM getting it, and so are the people whining about it.

See that's the thing.. I could care less about the success of the Wii.. I game for my personal enjoyment, not so I can contribute to a particular company's sucess or demise. Obviously you feel otherwise.

If we're talking about personal enjoyment per use of the wiimote then the Wii still wins. The Wiimote is supported in every single Wii game and so even if Microsoft releases a wii-mote clone, the support for the controller will be negligible in comparison to the rest of the library.

Nintendo games. One think MS will never have.

That's the ticket. No matter what happens, there really won't be as much polish on Microsoft motion controls as there is on Wii. Nintendo has been making this since mid-way into the GC's life. Microsoft probably started this when the Wii went electric. It will be a tacked on gimmick to get the casual crowd who already own Wiis.
