Actually, Devs and Publishers can't keep making the same game without innovations within the series and EXPECT to get great scores from the majority of reviewers.
-------------------
Also, the game isn't out, so you don't even know if ODST plays exactly the same. It's relative, but still, wait till you play it.
didn't you make the same topic a few weeks ago??? and cows really need to stop crying over halo its getting real sad
Halo is stupid.......but we are still talking about it after 2 years
It's called giving the consumers what they want, more of a good product. I've never been a big fan of the Halo series (just played CE) but it obviously has a large audience. I'm sure ODST will be worth it. What does it matter the score if Halo fans will buy it?

The whole game is very different from Halo 3, so no it won't prove anything besides that the reviwers didn't like the changes to the series.
[QUOTE="onewiththegame"]i know... they'll never get over that 9.5.didn't you make the same topic a few weeks ago??? and cows really need to stop crying over halo its getting real sad

only .5 off what the godly MGS got.......but Halo sucks
and I'm not bashing MGS its one of the best games this gen along with Halo3 and a few others
No. 1. Reviews are not written in a vacuum, so reviewers take into account what the previous games in the series were like. 2. It's not the same game.the review for Halo 3 was wrong because they are basically the same game 1 without master chief.

Halo 3 is 2 years old... H3 was a 9.5 during its time. After H3, many FPS's came out that innovated the genre. COD4 with its sprinting, unlockables, etc, KZ2 with its graphics. ODST is only a Halo 3 expansion, meaning its what oyu said. Halo 3 but playing as a different character. Dont expect anything above a 9.0 from this game. Wait for Reach ;)

Killzone innovated the FPS genre with its graphics?I dont understand the hype for halo games, the only one i liked was the first one. I dont own a 360, but alot of my friends do and i watch them play that boring crap sometimes. It seems like people just buy the name and dont even care if its actually good.....kind of like gucci or something.

i guess it getting AAA EVERYWHERE speaks nothing of its quality right?

Yea, it didnt innovate anything. It was purty, and fun while it lasted, but overall its a an above average fps. Not great, just good I suppose.
ODST wont be innovating the genre either, but it is a lot of content, and alot of fun im sure.

kilzone wasn't even the first FPS this gen to use cover that would be MOH: airborn

well Halo 3 is two years old so I would expect it to get a lower score. The same thing can be said about PDZ.....of course if it released a year later there is no way in hell it would have got AAA.[QUOTE="patrickjw333"]well Halo 3 is two years old so I would expect it to get a lower score. PDZ was super overhyped by the time it was out
Yes, if ODST score lower then Killzone 2, that automagically makes Killzone 2 better than the entire Halo series. That makes bucket loads of sense.well if it scores less than KZ2 it will finally prove KZ2 >> halo series:o and lems can finally stop saying KZ2 is garbage

I love this stuff , i really do.
why do cows care if a game they don't want to play is good or not ?
ODST will be an average FPS .. it'll be enjoyed by anyone who buys it and it'll get ok reviews of 7 or 8 ... and all the PS3 fanboys will should Halo sux and everything will go on like before and the 360 fanboys can complain that Uncharted 2 has rubbish AI and a rubbish cover system.
BLAH BLAH BLAH
just enjoy what you've got and don't rain on other people's parade

I'm sorry did you just say that Call of Duty 4 innovated the genre with sprinting and unlockables. :? Plenty of games have done both better way before Call of Duty. :|

thats pretty much what it will be, not innovating, but it will offer a lot of content, and MP with all the maps=epic win i can assure, just the price tag would have been a little bit lower Try lack of content. it's a complete slap in the face to the Halo 3 fans who purchased all those map packs. They are essentially getting a 5 hour campaign, and Halo Horde...oh and 3 maps for 60 bucks :|. Thats no where near the amount of new content that Halo 3 shipped with....that was one of the best aspects of Halo 3...you actually got your moneys worth...I can't say that about ODST.ODST is being hyped AA around here? You honestly think that it's not going to get at least an 8.0?mythrolit can easily get a 7.5 and just be considered good for -being 4-5 hours long -having no matchmaking for Fire Fight -for being the same competitive MP that people allready played in Halo 3 and if the game just doesn't wow them with its gameplay it will be more than enough to drop the game to a 7.5

Bungie said the campaign was 8 to 10 hours, not 4 to 5.

I dont know where you getting it being 4-5.
That was said when info first came out. When it was only a Expansion. That has changed. It is bigger and longer than before.
So you have no point.

Where are people getting 4 - 5?
The Youtube playthrough....dude beat the game(the main storyline stuff without going for audio files and stuff) under 4 hours. So I'm guessing even on Heroic or Legendary assuming you are good at Halo or shooters in general it will be what 6 hours max?jg4xchampCare for the game to officially release before believing a leaked unfinished french version of the game?

There isn't exactly much to do outside the main action of the game.

this post is total fail.
first, many fps's have sprinting and unlockables. how is this an innovation anyway? hell games have had running and unlockables for 20 years.
second, killzone 2's graphics didn't innovate anything. GG just made a generic shooter that looked good. that's not innovative. that's just making a good looking game.
third, how many times do the devs and publishers have to say it? Halo 3: ODST is a FULL GAME. it has an 8 hour campaign ( a length that is on par with most games this gen). it has a story of it's own, not merely expanding on the one from halo 3. hell this take place before halo 3.
if this game gets a 9, then it lives up to the halo hype machine. if it gets a 9.5 or 10(doubtful), then it just lends further proof that you have absolutely no idea what in the hell you're talking about.
[QUOTE="mythrol"][QUOTE="jg4xchamp"] sure but even then I have my issue with this expansion being charged like a full retail game. Lets see Bridges the storyline between Halo 2 and 3. Generally same mechanics, probably a shorter game than Halo 3 THe same EXACT multiplayer as Halo 3 Adds nothing new other than fire ffight and 2 weapons I guess. Its a new Halo type experience sure, but it is essentially an expansion and always was one since day one. It offers pretty much what Crysis Warhead did(another stand alone expansion) that was actually priced properly like an expansion. Nit pick all you want, ODST isn't an expansion. If ODST is an exansion, then I feel for everyone that bought Heavenly Sword...It's was nothing more than an over-priced PSN arcade game.
