If PCs invade the living they could dominate consoles

Ok so hear me out. I got two PCs one in my study for serious shooters, rts, racing sims and flight sims and the other connected to my HDTV

Just bought flatout ultimate carnage and played it on the TV with a wireless controller and it was great. It was a console experiance on a PC. And microsoft Live is pretty good. Starting to really like it now that its free :)

Anyhow the point I am making is with a PC you now can have any experiance you want. Want mouse keyboard and competetive gaming online you got it, want to laze on your sofa and play games like kane and lynch, flatout, devil may cry 4, Trackmania you can, want sim games using a josytsick and wheel you can.

I have a PS3 and its collecting dust. There are a few exclusives on it so i am glad i did buy it. But my PC gives me the most fun.

Why not just use a console downstairs instead of using a PC. Well the PC lets me view my TV shows from the bbc and channel4 and other naughty sources, watch my dvds which are upscaled, use my PC as a media center for all my music and browse the net with a wireless keyboard and mouse and the list goes on.

With steam playing games is really easy, just double click an icon. no disks needed and steam auto patches my games. No need to get off my sofa for most games.

So what do you think if PCs start been used in the living room will they pose a serious threat to consoles.

You study shooters? One PC for your tv? Ok now consoles will never die they are priced lower then PCs and most people wouldn't want to solely play on PC. When you want to play a game together with a buddy or a few friends you can't do that on a single PC.

there is nothing wrong with the soft ware it's more about hardware

In about 6 months to a year Pc's will be running it real smoothed

by next year there will be be better games lik crysis on the market

The engine is broken and horribly optimised. The multiplayer is atrocious and filled with server glitches and nothing is there to stop hackers. So buy the game now and play it without slow downs in a year or two? Crytek has basically pulled the plug on the game.

This is what makes me laugh about hermits. When are you going to realize a lot of people don't care that the PC can have better graphics? A lot of people are content with using them for work, school and internet.

You missed the point, if the Xbox 3 comes out or the PS4 you're going to buy... but you wont buy a PC for the same price and have 10x better graphics?

no, and the reason is this...hear me out. most of the titles that interest me (note, my opinion, not fact) are coming out for consoles first (mass effect, GTA4, MGS4, SMG, etc). the PC does not offer those titles (at least, not right away). certainly, PC graphics are superior. does that matter to me? not in the slightest.

MGS4 can't compete wth graphics and hardware of the pc look at crysis a smaller company on pc could make a bettter MGS4 game. the small company can do a MS$ style game on a cheaper budget too!

look at fallout and farcry they get more attenion on consoles that re:5 which is a hollywood game!

Everything seems to be about graphics. Crysis is a horrible buggy game and i don't understand how anyone can the game was that great. Why do you think they dropped support.

360 can't handle and ps3! 360 can't handle FF13 but the Pc can easy!

I mean with the cost and presure of making money from game devs

Pc will be seeing alot more games coming to it as game devs go multi plat.......I will be seeing a MGS on pc some time in the future

PC already got all nintendo 64 games or access to them

I have seen devil may cry come to pc holo, mass effect and faible. Game devs want money i am sure!!!

Do you game on your PC on relatively large sized monitor at 1920X1200 or 1680X1050 resolutions sitting 1-2ft away from the screen? I'm not telling you that you do, or do not, only asking. When I do game on my pc (which isn't too often actually), it's on a 19inch monitor. I'm not saying its not a less immersive experience, I'm just saying it's a preference. Personally I'd rather game on my 52inch HDTV with surrond sound on my theater recliners. The TC was talking about moving the pc to the living room to dominate consoles, and I thought part of the pc gaming "experience" was to be sitting on a desk chair in front of your monitor with headphones. I work all day on a pc, the last thing I want to do is come home and game on one. I'd rather just fire up the console in my living room and relax and game on it.

By the way Pc will ready for those games too
