Xbox Live doesn't really harm my bank account a whole lot.
Just like FF11.
didn't know I've been paying for it each month till now. (had it since December.)

How do you know it has more users.? Half of XBL user are gold the other half silver,it was confirmed by MS already so some 15 million or less are gold, while on PS3 pretty much any one can be online.Does XBL have more users ...i know the xbox came out a year before the ps3 but the $60/ year fee should act as a barriers for some folks to xbl....just curious

Xbox has more unique users as very few people make multiple accounts. Before the advent of trophies on the ps3, many people used to take advantage or the free accounts just to utilise a name change. As a result the psn has more registered usersfirebolt53I have 3 different gamer tags over the years most are dead, you can have multiple accounts on silver, and in the early days you could create a new gamertag with a new email and you got a free month of gold,so there are allot of dead account on live as well,i know i made 2 just to get a free month of live gold in 2007. But it was confirmed that half of the XBL user base is silver,MS has just use the inflated numbers to make see that most people have live or that Live is supported by a majority when is not in real life.

Because a vast majority of HS teeny boppers and middle school tweenies (the largest core game demographic) have their mommy & daddy pay for their ADDiction
77 million (PSN)versus 30 million (XBL).
Do the math.
GameShtopper
So 30-77= -47. Wii wins with -47 accounts.
[QUOTE="i5750at4Ghz"]PSN is really poor compared to XBL.deleterguyNo it isn't.
After getting MAG I actually think psn is better.
[QUOTE="Not-A-Stalker"]Actually PSN has something like 70mil registered accounts. But we'll never really know who *really* has more users because people have multiple PSN accounts. I have 4 myself. :sThePlotholeI have two. One is set for America. The other Japan. I have 3 xbl announts U.S EU and japanese.

I might make another PSN account for Japan.
what? psn on paper has WAY more users that xbl.Does XBL have more users ...i know the xbox came out a year before the ps3 but the $60/ year fee should act as a barriers for some folks to xbl....just curious

hell everyone here on sw has at least 6 seperate psn accounts. they were all bragging about how they were going to get every free game in the welcome back program with them.
why do you think during the hacking thing sony said 75 million users were affected when there are only 50 million ps3s sold?
i swear i'm prolly one of the only guys on this site that has only one psn tag.

I only have one, and the psn spans across more than 1 device. That makes sense, because not every ps3 user is online, and I imagine not every psp user is online either.
No it isn't.[QUOTE="deleterguy"][QUOTE="i5750at4Ghz"]PSN is really poor compared to XBL.Heirren

it varies on the game.zipper might be able to make better servers then others...but yea they do run pretty well
[QUOTE="Dead-Memories"]Xbox live also count multiple accounts, and silver which are basically useless. Basically useless, therefore no one really makes them. I have 4 PSN accounts, so the number is hugely inflated by fakes. I wouldnt be surprised if there were only 20 million or so actual PSN users.PSN has more, but it counts multiple free accounts on two platforms

I had 3 dude and people use to open new one to get a free month of XBL gold, after the month was up it revert to Silver. There are like 15 million XBL users, the whole 35 million crap also count silvers, and a few month ago MS went on record on Live, when they have 25 million about half of those were silver, the rest was gold. Currently Xbox Live has 25 million members. Recently, at the credit Suisse Annual Technology Conference, Microsoft head of Interactive Entertainment Business 'Dennis Durkin' announced that out of total 25 million members of Xbox Live, 12.5 million are hosted by Xbox Live Gold only, a paid subscription version of the Live service. Maintaining 50% paid subscribers is quite an achievement for Microsoft considering the secondary services that are available free on other platforms. http://techgenie.com/latest/12-5-million-subscribers-for-microsoft-xbox-live-gold/ MS has never been clear about live number from the start, they just play with the numbers and include silver accounts to make the xbox live community look bigger than it actually is.PSN has more, but it counts multiple free accounts on two platforms

I've had next to no lag whatsoever. Two instances maybe at the start of a game. But I wasn't referring to what you brought up. I was saying how much better the community has become. Xbox Live is completely different these days. I've been a subscriber since it started.
I'm still confused by this perception that XBL costs 60/year. I've never paid that much for it. The last time I renewed my account THROUGH XBL, Microsoft charged me $80 for 2 years + I got 2400 points (which equals $30 in store credit). Also, XBL has a free version too which whenever Microsoft gives figures they include the free one too. Either way, PSN and XBL are pretty equal on users. But Microsoft profits a TON more from theirs. mythrol
I know. Last time I renewed I think it was $40 through amazon. I think it is the principle that MS charges $60. Still, I hear from pc gamers that it should have dedicated servers if we are paying?

PSN users aren't paying, and plenty of their online games have dedicated servers.
Servers are the most important thing in quality online gaming, so I don't see how a "premium" service could get away with so few games featuring them.
Reminds me of this aparment I used to rent. The community was described as being comprised of "luxury apartment homes." Sounds nice, but the only thing that qualified the place as luxury was the price.
