It will most likely send them bankrupt, they do not have the financial strength of microsoft to keep competing.

Because the ps3 cannot compete with the xbox 360 now, what makes you think it will against the next gen xbox.

It was a very bad business decision to try and compete against microsoft based on hardware horsepower.

Compare sony and microsofts balance sheets. One is riddled with debt, the other is sitting on a small country's GDP.

There will only be one winner, microsoft will not stop until the competition is destroyed and i struggle to understand why you guys dont realise this.

Sony cannot compete on horsepower anymore, it will only lead to longer unemployment lines.

Problem is, is that Sony probably won't afford to bring out the PS4 as of this moment, as they're currently putting most of their eggs into a basket with PS Vita. But I honestly don't think that they can allow Nintendo to get a huge head start next generation in Japan, either, because that's where it's home to both Nintendo & Sony. They made that mistake with Vita.

If Wii-U sales are high, I doubt that 3rd party developers will pay attention towards PS4. So Sony will have to do something real soon. The only company who can get away with not bringing out their next console in Japan so soon is Microsoft, because the main Xbox brand market is the U.S.A.

Both Microsoft and SOny said they were not competing with the Wii. They were competing with eachother. And since Sony played it lazy, Microsoft got the 360 out a year early and buried the PS3 instantly into a grave it could never get itself out of. If Sony doesn't show off the Ps4 at E3. That's the thing though, they may get their ass kicked again, but that definitely doesn't mean they're doomed or anything. Sony's been through the whole PS3's early life disaster and came out fine, selling about 60 million units. And yes, while both MS and Sony said that they were not competing with the Wii, I was just following your example,

PS1 = launched before N64. Won.
PS2 = launched before Gamecube and Xbox. Won.
PSP = launched after DS. Lost.
Ps3 = launched last. Lost.
