If Steam didn't exist

would people actually care for Valve?

When was the last time Valve has made what we would call a complete package?

The Orange Box back in 07.

Everything since then has been overpriced add ons, honestly Left 4 Dead for example is too repetitive. You literally run through the same linear maps over and over even in VS. Dead Island was superior, had a more serious tone which a zombie game should have and an open world.

Team Fortress 2 was a good game.

Portal is moreso a mini game to what should be a fuller more complete game.

Counter Strike GO will be nothing but a updated engine and tweaked CS.

They get away with half*ssing alot of their games in terms of content.

Also, the HL series is pretty overrated and there are plenty of games on other platforms that are way better than it.

Halo being one of them.

Portal 2 is a pretty complete package. 8 hours or so for each campaign, that's good for a single player/cooperative game. They certainly aren't the god tier developer a lot of people make them out to be though.

L4D was never meant to be a game about the story. It's a multiplayer co-op zombie survival game. And it can be very fun and difficult in the versus modes that require team work and communication

Nah, I still would play. Amazon and other places sell games just as cheap or cheaper. And Xfire and Raptr do chat just as well as Steam.

Well I buy phsyical PC games but Steam is what got me into PC gaming. So in other words I'm not a fake PC gamer since I play on almost every console.

Honestly Valve isn't that great at making SP games.

HL1=Sucks now (as to be expected by a decade old game)

HL2= (dated mechanics)

L4d=Awful Sp (not that its meant for SP)

Portal 2 = Awful **** , Same as P1 with a few additions and 6x the price
