I mean PC guy's are the first to brag about gaming PC's having superior graphics over consoles.

Well what about High end Imac's or Mac Pro's versus gaming PC's, i for one will be happy to speak on behalf of the MAC computers.

I have a pretty nice MAC myself

24 inch Intel core duo IMAC :

3.06 Intel core duo processor

1 Terabyte Hard drive

4 gig ram

Nvidia GE force 8800 graphics card with 512 memory

8x speed superdrive DVD burner

Wireless airport card

Built in isight cam

Not the best of specs i know compared to most gaming PC's, but all in all a nice package capable of running some pretty impressive graphics whether games or other software.

Now i'm the first one to admit that the MAC's don't have half the size of the PC gaming library but those multiplats we do have are said to run much smoother on a Mac than a PC, which isn't really hard to believe since Mac's are made so much better.

Just think -- for that package you have there, you payed probably three to four times more than a PC with the same specs.

Rofl, Macs suck. If a PC is too complicated for you, you don't deserve to use a computer. Period. Macs are like a very hindered PC. No one programs for it. The Mac is really only good for Video and Photo editing.

Because we all know PC's are superior to Macs, and can do mostly anything a Mac can do, in cases better, and at a cheaper price.

Macs are pathethic in terms of game selection. I mean, their biggest profile game of 2008, yes, not 2007, was a port of Call of Duty 4...

That's it? A few things it can do better than PC versus the thousands of things PC's do better... not a good comeback. And there are alternatives to Final Cut Pro, there's tons of other applications for windows that can do the same thing.

Every Mac fan knows the price difference between PC's and Mac's but there are a few more things we also know, We have more reliable hardware and an easier to use, more advanced operating system with OS-X Leopard with no danger of viruses, no need for spyware or antivirus software unlike your Vista O.S. which has now become the joke of the industry as far as O.S.'s go, not to mention the 3 years of apple care which guarantees our costly but well worth Mac's are taken care of.

It only needs to do a few things better to be used by millions of professionals. I don't do video editing, but the industry i'm in, i know a lot who do. I'm more into the photography end of things, and nothing can replace aperture 2.0+ for organization and quick editing.

Mac's can do everything better than a PC, PC's can't even run for too long without locking up, getting 20 pop up's, 15 updates, and scanning for viruses every 30 minutes.

agreed, you can throw windows on your mac and game, or just play games on mac, but it's more a professionally used system than a gaming one.

More reliable? I haven't had a problem on my PC that I couldn't solve, you just need some common sense. Easier to use? Oh please, how? Any person can operate a Windows PC, it's not rocket science. No danger of viruses? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12537279/ ..... try again. Not everyone uses Vista, its optional, I use XP and so do many others.

Really? My PC runs all day, never had this lock up. I don't get pop-ups, I don't scan for viruses every 30 minutes. I update my Anti-Virus, takes a minute or two, doesn't interrupt what I do.

I really love my Mac, but... I really don't consider Mac's gaming devices. Yes, they can play games. But virtually everything they do in that subject can be done much better on PC. There's really no argument. Now that I think about it, I think the first time my Mac started "beach balling" was when I tried to run a game. Of course my Macs a bit on the older side.

Heres a challenge for you, since you think you know so much about Mac's and i know just by your statement you've never used one. Go into your local Apple store and have one of the Mac guy's give you a little example of the things that they can do, and i guarantee you that you'll come out of that store, run home and put your PC up on Ebay, so you can go out and buy a Mac. I've been a Mac user for over 15 years and i have converted a total of 12 people from PC's to Mac and they still thank me to this day, all of them were tired of the same things with their PC's, system errors, popup's, updates, spyware, spamware, antivirus software, freeze up's, viruses wiping out their hard drives. Then they took my advice switched to a Mac and all of them are die hard Mac fans to this day, with no intention of ever returning to PC's.

Nah, doesn't work for me. I've used macs, it was ok but I still preferred my PC, and I wouldn't pay 2-3x more for a Mac. Read my post above, it disproves your statement about viruses.

Well it would most likely be due to the lack of games -- like you mentioned. Then of course their is the price difference as well. Perhaps OSX is better than Vista, but for a gamer who can get higher end hardware for an equal price, and a larger game library, I would think the choice would be obvious.

Clearly you own a mac. You obviously haven't used a PC.

Checking for viruses? That's a feature of a program, and an optional program at that. I have Vista and don't bother with anti-virus/spyware programs. The updates, pop-ups, etc. can be changed at will. And yet you think Macs are resistant to viruses, which is entirely not true. There are several (~500 from the last count I looked at), and the reason there aren't as many is because compared to PCs, no one owns a Mac. Who would program for an OS no one uses? Same goes for gaming.

This is why PC is superior to mac. You pay less, get more, and you can customize everything to your liking. Mac is for the sheep of the industry.

There's no PC vs. Mac debate because Mac is not a viable gaming platform at this point in time. I'm a Mac user, and even I can see that.

Apple is aware, as with every other sane person, that Microsoft has monopolized the computer industry and the Windows OS is the standard today. They have to resort to vicious McCain-esque attack ads to sway people to go for their crap. What they don't realize is that when Windows 7 hits retail shelves, it will destroy the Mac OS forever. Hell, the beta already has...

Yeah and most experts think it was a virus most likely put there by Apple so no one could illegally obtain a boot leg copy of Iwork. When i'm on my pc, i don't get 20 pop ups, 15 updates and scanning for virus's. BTW there was a huge mac virus going around on torrents for iWork a few days ago, was all over the news, so your argument kind of sucks.

Riiiiiight. There's no need for anti-virus for the most part, but there's no more of a need for anti-spyware on a PC than there is on a mac - what gets flagged as spyware are generally ad tracking cookies, which you get from *browsing the internet.* You don't avoid those from having a Mac, you just don't care that they exist on either platform and get hyped into thinking you need to get rid of them on a PC where you wouldn't on a mac.

I'm a software developer, and I'm typing this on my Mac right now. If no one programs on a Mac, then where do you think iPhone apps come from? Hell, what do you think the iPhone itself was developed on?

If they -allowed- iPhone development on non-Apple platforms, how much less of it do you think would've been done there? I know a huge chunk of people that went and bought Mac Minis solely for developing iPhone apps on.

Paying for a worse version of xp(vista), and having many exploits that allow system security, and defending it is stupid, not buying a higher end machine built on the idea of aesthetics and flawless OS design. Saying it's for sheep is dumb, because a large portion of the film industry, music industry and photography industry (me), use it.

LOL-LOL-LOL-LOL- Yeah because Windows has such a great reputation for releasing bug free operating systems right...LOL-LOL-LOL.

i stand corrected, i remember when they bought a lot of apple stock during their anti-trust lawsuits, so they could keep competition afloat, because apple was tanking then, didn't know they sold it off.

Oh and a PC is, give me a break, you can customize a MAC PRO 8 Core or an Intel Imac to not only run all Mac games with gorgeous graphics and smooth framerate but you can also put Windows on any MAC and play every other game you guy's adore, i don't believe you can do that with a PC.

Well, I know it's hard to tell on the internet, but I was generalizing Mac users. I know there are industries who use Macs for the programs they offer (which there are equivalents of on PC for the most part), which is entirely fine. Their marketing tactics, the forefront ideas of aesthetic and set hardware (for compatibility) over straight up customization in all aspects makes it easily accessible, which is an identifiable term for mainstream consumers, who are the "sheep" if you will.

When I built my computer, XP was the more expensive choice. I wasn't going to pay 50$ more for it since I was already over-budget. Customized Vista is just as good if not better than XP, allowing for increased speed and clears out several issues people seem to have with it (most of the time they complain about memory requirements). Obviously Mac OS aren't without their security holes as well, and also with numerous issues regarding internet-based programming languages, it's certainly not flawless.

Stable on its own, but it gives the users a ton of power to break things if they are so inclined. Most people are idiots and break things. Something like a corporate environment with locked-down computers, and... hey, they are pretty stable. Most of the problems come from the sheer variety of programs and devices it supports.
