I agree. I like the Switch but underneath all the hype and blind fanboyism it's really not that great. I haven't touched mine in weeks. The third party support is lackluster (b-but muh Doom and Skyrim amirite?) I don't care about 99% of indie games, Mario and Zelda aren't enough to keep me going, the hardware is laughably outdated (and they wonder why there's no third party support) the online is just... yeah, the games and controllers are expensive and the fact that it has 32gb storage (25.9ish usable) in 2017/2018 where most games are 50+gb is ridiculous
but hey smash is pretty hype so we got that at least
Then why would you buy it in its first year? Anyone who buys a console in its first year and complains about droughts deserves to get tricked over and over again because they're fools. I'm literally 21, and I know not to buy a console that early. Hell, I figured it out in high school. I hope you're 16 or under, because if not, then you're a fool.
Yep. When I buy day one, I know I'm prepared to wait. There are other perks to being a day one buyer and it's not having a hundred games to play within the first year. That said, Switch has had the best day one.
The other complaints are strange, controllers and games are always expensive. Extra storage is NOT expensive because they let you use third-party storage. (A Brilliant move, they saw how that killed the Vita.)
The rest of his complaints are idiotic, why even buy a Switch then if mario and zelda don't tickle your pickle? Did he expect Far Cry 5 on the thing? We're slowly seeing two trends 1)Third parties playing catch up and 2)third parties aiming for day n date release on switch along with other consoles.
Soon both will line up and every game will need a Switch version. Because their dirty little secret is that every game can be downgraded and still work, and graphics aren't that much of an upgrade from last gen once you remove all the little bells and whistles that distract gamers.
Ok, maybe I am an idiot for buying during its release month, I'll agree.
It had a pretty crap day one. Zelda was the only good game.
I know controllers are expensive, but 80 quid for two joycons is stupid. If they didn't have the useless HD rumble and infrared gimmicks they'd be cheaper and I wouldn't be complaining.
I have an SD card, and I don't mind buying them, but still, my point stands. 32GB built in is damn ridiculous. You're pretty much asking your consumers to go out and spend extra cash just so they can play games that don't fit on the damn console.
Mario and Zelda did indeed tickle my pickle, my nickle. Problem is, two games I'm interested in one year later isn't enough.
Well, I didn't expect Far Cry 5, but that'd be rather nice, actually.
I applaud devs that release on Switch on day one with the other systems, but the catchup is stupid. Nobody wants to pay 60 quid for Skyrim or Doom a few months/years after release, no matter how good the game is or how much content is in the game.
There's nothing necessarily wrong with downgraded versions, and it's not much of a turnoff for me, but if I was given the option to play a game at 720p30fps or 1080p60fps on another system I think I know which one I'd pick, and for the general public a system that plays shittier versions of games that perform better on other systems is a bit of a turnoff. (but hey, consoles still sell amirite /s)
