If we just had PS4 this generation wouldn't we have been fine?

Without ps4 xbox one was gonna do charging for used games and all this other crap and like ps4 had none of that.

I think if ps4 was alone this gen I think we would have been perfectly fine maybe gotten more games and more just good stuff. Xbox is like holding gaming back and they said like if you don't like the xbox one get a 360 that was their president ffs. I mean you can't say that stuff if your a president you have to be upping your game and saying everyone should buy the new product not some old piece of junk.

For me no as ive enjoyed halo5 and gears 4 and put endlessly hours into them. The PS4 doesn't have that great shooter to satisfy me. All comes down to preference.

Ps1/Ps2 days were great, the peak of gaming I would say. But we need a check & balance, Sony got overconfident from those era and released ps3. Great console with great promise but man, the price at launch was hurting me.

Because they've enjoyed an unprecedented level of market dominance outside of gaming for decades. They've had to be reined in by antitrust laws. Now give that power to some other greedy faceless corporation in, say, the video game market. Sony doesn't know you,they don't like you,they don't want to spend money on you. They just want you to spend money on them. And if they have no competition they can get that done with the bare minimum.

I have to agree with all the people that said a Monopoly would be bad. I just can’t see how no competition would benefit anyone...any company would just take advantage of that if they got the chance, and leave the gamer worse off IMO.

I disagree with this completely. If there wasn't competition for Sony, I do not think you would have had these exclusives that you have had.

It would be foolish to think Sony would have been as good without any competition. That is the number one reason we get so many amazing experiences....competition.

And yet the NES and SNES minis make the PS Classic look like a pos. DS and 3DS dominated the PSP and PS Vita. Meanwhile, the Switch provides AAA gaming on the go at only 12W compared to the power hungry, roach fuelled jet engine PS4.

No Forza, Halo, Cuphead, Gears, or Ori? Are you mad? Nothing interests me on the ps4, the Switch has one game I’d buy and I wouldn’t buy a console for just one game. I’d probably just play WoW on pc and ignore console gaming altogether.

Competition should be between game developers, not systems, but when you are trying to trap simple minded people into one ecosystem you need to force exclusivity to bait them.

If we only had PS4 this gen? I would have been PC-only gamer. I can still count how many PS4 games I have on one hand even after all these years, compared to over 30 games each for the Switch and Xbone.
