If we just had PS4 this generation wouldn't we have been fine?

The vast majority of the gaming base went with the PS4 for a reason. While MS was busy working on the X and Nintendo milking sheep to oblivion by releasing another system after they just got sheep to buy the Wii U.

So effectively this gen has been PS4 only with hermits getting scraps like SF5 and PS Now.

Part of me says the world would be a better place without Microsoft in it.

But objectively they are keeping Sony honest.

Remember last gen, that Sony guy who said, "We want people to work 2-3 jobs to buy PS3" (or something to that effect) it was terribly arrogant, they put out the original PS3 for something like $800 if I recall.

And then the Xbox360 came out and wiped the smug off Sony's face.
