I loved the original xbox and never purchased Halo or Halo 2. The only time I played it was when like 5 friends would come over and we'd hook up two tvs and xboxes and play Halo 2. That wasn't too often though. That games that prompted me to by one were:
Jedi Academy. Knights of the Old Republic and Jet Set Radio Future.
The original I bought for KotoR though I knew I'd be getting halo as well. Then when halo 2 came out and i discovered xbox live....oh boy.
Honestly, a huge deciding factor in my purchase of a 360 was due to the fact that I knew Halo 3 would definitely be coming out for it.
I own both Xbox's and I've only played the first Halo... I got the second one for xmas and never put it in the machine... ever.
Halo is fun, don't get me wrong, but if Microsoft lost Bioware, then I'd be worried...
When I bought my xbox (1) I was playing NFL Fever before I even opened Halo :PII-FBIsniper-II
HAHA! Oh god Nfl fever don't remind me... I had a friend who played that nonstop for months and months and I don't think I ever even made it through an entire game.

Thats my MAJOR reason for buying a 360. Bio-Ware and memories of the n64 Rare.
i never did buy an Xbox but i enjoyed many a game on it
if Halo was never released for Xbox, the platform may have still been successful given it had the third party support, but it definitely wouldn't have taken off nearly as quickly
no, back then i was cow/sheep.
i rented an xbox with halo and played it, and well, the rest is history

There was a play that I could always get an automatic TD with, even on the hardest difficulty. ;)Please Log In to post.
