If Xenoblade Chronicles was on HD Twins would it be GOTY?

I've been playing Xenoblade Chronicles a lot lately and I've gotta say that the game is AWESOME. I can't help feeling though that because it's a Wii game it will get overlooked in favour of some of the top titles on the HD Twins.

If this game was ported to the HD twins (obviously with upgraded graphics) I believe that it would be a guaranteed GOTY.

Xenoblade Chronicles is one of the best JRPGs ever released.

If it is as great as you claim, it will recive a GOTY nomination regardless the platfrom.

Is it an action RPG?Like Kingdom Hearts?

why does it need to be on the ps3 and 360 to be GOTY? super mario galaxy 1 and 2 both got nominations

No it wouldn't. It would end up like Skies of Arcadia on the Gamecube in terms of critical reception (I haven't played the game myself though, but even if I did, it still wouldn't be that different).

I would like to play it, but I'm not buying a wii for it. Might get one for all the other games I've missed as well, but not whilst I'm studying.

It wont be counted in the awards since it didint come over. So people thinking its going to be up for GOTY or even RPG of the year think again

Simply put NOA is just dumb. They have a already fully translated game and all they need to do is make it work for another region and thats it,but it seems nintendo has abondon ship on the wii. Theres only 2 games I can think of im interested thats coming out this year for it and thats kirby since i wasint a fan of epic yarn since it made me yawn though this one seems like more old school kirby with the music I like. The second game is of course LOZ.

I honestly cant think of a single game that was released over seas and not here (in Europe).

xenoblade will end up getting overshadowed by a lot of the other big releases, itll be a sleeper hit for the year definately, itll probably be nominatred for rpg of the year but will also most likely lose out to skyrim or dark souls

again doubt it. It didint come over therefore it wont count in the rankings. Unless GS makes its own catogory of games that didint come over.

I don't know if it's even going to be considered since it didn't release everywhere.

All I know is if it was on Ps3 I'd at least get to play it...

If it's a good game the console doesn't matter. Super Mario Galaxy is a good example of this.

But no, even with the better graphics, I don't think the game would get GOTY. RPG of the Year...maybe, but still probably not.

I find GS is usually very good about making the right choice for GOTY. Demons Souls was a great pick, especially considering what some other sites picked ( IGN picked UC2 if i remember right). Imo the fact that it isn't released in NA takes it out of the running, not the fact that it's on the wii. It's a shame because maybe it could have made some noise this year. There are many great games coming out this year that are sequels merely delivering more of what was already made (B:AC, Skyrim, Dark Souls, GeOW3, etc.) which would still give good competition but XBC's innovative RPG system and gameplay would have given it a fighting chance.

Nope. It's a good japanese RPG. That wouldn't score GOTY here. It has too many semblances to other J-RPG's to be that popular even though it does a lot of nontraditional minithings.

No, see the lack of Jrpgs this gen is so larges that people are overrating them when they come in. If Xeno Blade was released a tad earlier this gen, it probably would have gotten worse scores. people are not giving the game critical scores because it's good, but because it is a refreshingly different game than the cluister of shooters. Online, for a JRPG? Not really important. While better visual could make for a more beautiful experience, it doesn't affect the gameplay at all. As for DLC, if the entire game has dozens of hours of gameplay and story, why would DLC be necessary?

These arguments are continually made in regards to Wii games, but rarely would there be a significant improvement, apart from better visuals. And better visuals do little to enhance the experience.

I don't think so. It's a great game but I don't think it can surpass Skyward Sword.

Thank you. I dont get why some people dont get it. I just saw a post that said they would riot if it didint win. Then prepare to riot since it wont even be in the catogory. It didint come over therefore it wont be part of the discusion unless it has its own catagory like import reward.

It still has a chance but yeah I think it wouldn't hurt to be released on HD twins.
