Yeah, and how effective is that camera going to be when trying to track the ball at any great distance? I mean it's only got 0.3MP and is covering a relatively wide FOV. By comparison the Wiimote's IR sensor is equivalent to 1.3MP and focused in a narrower FOV.
At the very least the Wiimote pointer has the advantage of never needing any calibration.
Do you need to calibrate before every session or once and once only? Wiimote still needs calibrating for something like House Of The Dead. When Move was officially unveiled I didn't see anyone having a problem with the pointer during the stage demo's, unlike Myamoto and the Zelda SS demo (I know it worked for the press when they went hands-on with it though). My Wiimote pointer definitely has problems beyond 3 meters, I need to pull the couch closer to the TV to be safe. The pointer never requires callibration. HotD has a bonus ode that lets you turn off the on-screen pointer. It's still using the pointer, it's just not showing it. The calibration is only to give the player a starting point. I don't recommend it.
The only other time you might need to calibrate the pointer is when you first buy your wii so you can set up the best sensitivity based off your room and distance from TV.
I only ever play HOTD like its arcade original with the Nyko Perfect Shot gun attachement, works pretty well actually IMO.
