If you're really strapped for cash, just get a Wii and save yourself some money. But if you're really interested in HD gaming and more mature gaming, then get a Ps3. I say Ps3 because you don't want to risk it with 360s dieing mysteriously, so I'd just bite the bullet and get the PS3 package. What kind of games do you like?

I'd say the 360, but then again I am a lemming.

Reasons: XBL is great, You get a lot of the PC's best games, the multiplats all seem to be great on the 360, the exclusives are great and seems to get timed exclusives first, so no waiting.

The periferals are quite nice too: the steering wheels great, Ace Combat 6 has a great looking flight controller coming with it, the Guitar hero 2 X-plorer is great as is the wireless headset, messenger kit, HD DVD and standard wireless controllers.

I gave your post about a seconds thought and came up with Ninja Gaiden 2. Plus the 360 already has a great library, so he won't have to wait for possible good games but maybe flops.

Really should replace system with console unless you mean gaming grade PC since many peopleuse the PC to do a lot of things these days. Not having one at all (even an ancient one) would be foolish.

I could go trawling through all the games, but there is no real point. Splinter Cell conviction could top MGS4 (don't know), Too Human could be a sleeper, Banjo Threee could be out next year etc etc. Lets wait for the 360's current heavy weights to be released and see what is announced next before discounting 2008 for the 360.

*shrugs* 9 are 360 only still and the 360 is the only common denominator for all the multiplats, You have to get a PC and a PS3 to play all of them.

PS3 will be $399 for a 40gb this holiday and the good games are rolling in nonstop.
