If you had a choice between Microsoft or Sega...

Which would you prefer? Would you rather Sega had stayed in the console wars and MS never come?

Personally, I miss the amazing 1st party games that Sega had for its systems. The dreamcast shoulda never went out like it did. I would have preferred a Dreamcast 2 over a 360, honestly.

I choose MS because Sega are not what they used to be.

sega had their go and couldnt cut it. ultimatly they threw it away becouse they had no business sense. and this above all else is a business.

I guarantee, had you made an option for: MS/Sega - that would have won here and more importantly in real life where Sega would be sitting on top of the world these days ! :o

I like Microsoft's consoles a lot. Their console's gave us Gears, Halo and Fable and helped make consoles more PC like. I don't really like any of Sega's games, though Shenmue is still one of the greatest games ever.screamingdoom

But that wasn't Microsoft, that was people Microsoft bought. Those games would've existed, but not on Microsoft's console. :|

Several reasons really:

Anyone whos played a Sega game lately can see just how amazing they are, anyone who enjoyed it needs there head checking.

Sega has never once been able to contend against Sony, Segas pockets just aren't deep enough and they need to be - Sony had no competition Microsoft stepping in helped change that, although Nintendo has done it's part as well.

Sega leaving was more good than anything else. Don't kid yourselves that if they'd carried on making consoles there games would be good.

Yeah but did you notice how they only started going downhill after the Dreamcast failed? If they still had consoles I think they still be as awesome as they used to be.

Wow! This is a tuff question...

Even as a hardcore sega fan, I'm going to have to say MS. I am not sure Sega has the magic anymore, plus my favorite thing about Sega was their arcade game focus, and those games are dead now. Online is hot now, and I don't think Sega would be able to do it better than MS (just like Sony and Nintendo can't).

Sega slowly lost its exclusives and did not make an effort to repopulate their stable.

Microsoft has at least added to the industry in the last few years,

sega M$ deserves to die if they hadnt made such a **** of a console and went out and use their $$$ to buy exclusives games those games would have existed on the ps3 and we would have had a super console.I mean seriously guys think about it the only contribution M$ has made to this gen is 360 and we have all seen how the pleasefixme has turned out .All the games are just bought exclusives nothing good first party at all-hells-

Sega CD, Sega 32X and Sega Saturn were all failures. It's a wonder why anyone bought the Dreamcast after so many failures from one company. Sega dropped out because they were going bankrupt. it's a wonder they didn't drop out sooner.Deihmos

I also genuinely like Sega, unfortunately they had bad luck. Dreamcast was a great system, their systems always have the coolest names too. I'd much much rather have them then Microsoft.

Why would I prefer a company with no business sense? After seeing what happened with Sega CD and 32X I knew the company was going under. They release those products and drop support in no time.

Sega? every system they made was mediocre. Sony kicked them out of the console industry.

Besides, Sega isnt as rich as MS is. They wouldnt have as much influence wielding potential.

Microsoft, Sega had their chance and ruined it. I purchased every one of their systems and expansions and for the most part felt burned with nearly every one.

Atleast Microsoft is doing better each generation, Sega crashed and burned after the Genesis. I live in America so don't give me the "Sega Saturn had blah blah", Sega of America didn't give the Saturn any support, they over charged and under delivered.

There was no luck involved. They just made genuinly poor choices.
