what would it be?

For me it's a tough call between Racers, Sports, and Fighters a I hate all three. Actually each only has one series I've actually enjoyed. Mario Kart for Racers; NBA Street for Sports, and Smash Bros. for Fighters... I'd probably get rid of Racers.

out of those sports but....

it pains me to say this because i have been playing rts games for a good 18 years but rts games but there has not been a great and special rts for 7 years now going on 8

there have been good one but nothing stand out (except maybe the "total" game) and it has just stagnated over time. RTS games should change or die

That's not fair. The same could be said about any genre if you're interested in it. Sure, MMO's are a time sink but I've managed to maintain three WoW subscriptions, play them on a regular basis, raid with my guild, do arena with friends, and still have more than enough time for social activities and my real world obligations.

MMOs Haven't any of you watched Cronenberg's Existenz these games ruins people's lives.

I hear people are literaly living in these fantasy Dwarf and Elf lands. And some guy in China killed his friend for selling his virtual MMO Dragon Saber. WTF is up with that. When a game becomes your life, then it's gotta go.

I remember a time when all gamers were stereotyped like this. Some people still do it. Seriously the majority of WoW players live normal lives, people just like to see the addicts who throw thier life away for it rather than the tons of regular people :S

Oh wow, you're just joking, right? Why is it hard to believe that everyone who plays an MMO doesn't obsess over it like a crack fiend?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's not the game's fault that people get addicted, it's the player's personality. If you have a player with low self esteem for example, they would most likely look to other players for validation. After finding the validation through raid healing, tanking, whatever, they'll start obsessing over it and become reclusive and avoid their real life obligations.

MMOs don't make people have pathetic lives, pathetic people give themselves pathetic lives.

RPGs, atleast the turnbased ones. Random battles every step you take, critical hits and misses, generally boring battle systems, and worthless party members. The only turn based RPGs I've ever enjoyed are the M&L and Paper Mario games.

No MMO ever made anyone kill someone. People kill people, not MMOs. I heard a news story once about a young man who brutally beat his younger sister for a Pokemon card. Are you going to tell me that Pokemon made him do that?

I've heard stories about people murdering eachother over being cut off in traffic.

Some people are disgusting monsters, nothing made them do that other than their own twisted mind.

Just like the bible made people kill people in the crusades, people find ignorant way to justify morbid behaviors, it's sad.

Yes, I am going to tell you that Pokemon made him do that.

Pokemon made him do that.

I thought this was fairly common knowledge. Wasn't there a video on youtube of a Pikachu egging some kid on to attack his sister? He was all like "yaaaa boiii, slap dat beach!"

I think I remember seeing that...

MMO's.

I'm starting to feel this way about JRPG's. For a genre that relies so heavily on story, characters, gameplay, and good writing there are only a handful of games in the genre that can even come close let alone deliver.

I haven't seen one JRPG on 360/PS3/Wii this gen that is worth a purchase.

Do those bundles of games count as a genre? Any bundle that offers you over 100+ games for $9.99 should immediately be destroyed. I once got a 10,000+ game set from a friend and I spent days going thru them, couldn't find one good one.

Party games. Even though I have fun playing them with my friends I feel bad afterwards, they're the equivalent of "Meet the spartans"...
