If you have a console, no reason to own PC too

Actually, if you own a console, you can probably get by on a substandard gaming PC and still play the major PC releases. All the major PC exclusives I know of will run just fine on a GTX 460, Star Citizen included (although it's severely downgraded on that card, so a GTX 660 would be better). The money that would be spent on an expensive graphics card could go to buying a console instead - thereby unlocking the largest number of exclusive titles available to you.

[But many in PC gaming would consider that thought sacrilegious.]

I have wait a little bit about my bloodborne machine. Other than that PC is the only platform I need.

Sorry didn't read the post, busy playing Ryse at 1440p maxed out settings which cost me half what the console version retails for. Don't get too butthurt about not knowing the experience of playing at 60fps 1080p as a minimum. I'm off now to play some multiplayer which doesn't cost me a yearly subscription.

I used to make assumptions with no experience too. Then I turned 13.

This is the most uninformed post ever. You've clearly spent very little time gaming on a PC and know little about the platform. Everyone has covered the benefits of PC gaming (resolution and framerate, cheaper games, mods, free multiplayer, etc.) so I don't have too much more to say about that. But I own a PS4 and Xbox One solely for exclusives (which have been few and far between) and a PC for all multiplats and PC exclusives. I don't know what you mean by "old ass Steam games" but you do realize that pretty much every game that's on both consoles releases at the exact same time on PC, right? And yeah there are old games - you can play any game released from the past couple decades which you can't do without owning about ten game consoles. Sorry dog, but you're wrong.

The way I see it, if you have a PC, there's no reason to own a console. PC has the best exclusives and best versions of multiplats. I have a PS4 and Wii U for the exclusives, but that's just because I like wasting money. I could easily go without consoles and just game on PC. As for Xbox One, I'm never wasting money on that pile of crap.

If you truly want to hit the entire gaming spectrum, you must have a PC somewhere in the mix.

I kind of need my PC for school AND work. I can't do everything I need on a damn tablet or smart phone. And I certainly can't do it on a console. If I need a PC or laptop for school/work anyway, why not spend a little more to be able to play some games on it, too?

Not even exaggerating. Look at ultrabook or high-end laptop prices (without even a dedicated graphics card) and gaming laptop prices. You can find a decent gaming laptop or build a awesome desktop PC for the same price or less.

The evil within is crappily optimized on every single platform. Dead Rising 3 is a blast to play on PC, but it's a shame it requires such hefty hardware and the difference between min and recommended specs isn't enough. There is not enough scalability in the game.

It remains to be seen with AC: Unity but I think that will be one of the first games that could end up better on consoles.

Because I doubt the very high recommended specs are even enough to run the game fluidly on 1080/60 with the amount of crappy ports we've seen from Ubisoft.

Crysis 2 came out in 2011 and I absolutely believe it has visuals on par or better than most games on PS4 and Xbox One. I just played the PC version the other day as matter of fact and it still looks stunning. Unlike the console versions, the PC version is running at 1080p and 60fps with DX11 features and very high resolution textures. If they were to release some "remastered version" on the next-gen consoles it would aim to look and run like the PC version did in 2011. Hell, they just released Metro Redux and Metro 2033 which came out in 2010 still doesn't look and run and good as it would on a good PC. It's even in 900p on Xbox One and came out four years ago...

Do you consider the Xbone a console?
