[QUOTE="LibertySaint"][QUOTE="-Spock-"] [QUOTE="LibertySaint"]tho the ps3 verison you get to install the game somewhat, making load times 2x as fast on the ps3, if u don't install it on the ps3 the load times are going to be around 2 min each because of the blu-ray speed and size. the dvd drive ron the 360 expect 6-10 seconds load times in big locations and less then one every where else.-Spock-
Installing doesn't make the loading two times faster; it eliminates it altogether. And installing 5GB of data on the HDD isn't an option - it's a requirement, so you will never, ever see any loading.
not from what i've been reading because it still needs to load info off of the disc it doesn't install the whole game. plus look at pc games there, they still load...so yeah and the load times are to be expected also (and also i do believe you don't have to install parts, it still reads the disc for the data but because of all that load times are huge, the hdd use just elimates lots othe time.) because look at past games on eahc console (cod4 takes what 4 seconds to load a map on the 360 takes about 2 minutes on the ps3. same with AC when it does have load times, i know from experince i own both console and my brothers have the diffrent verisons of the game which i use to test) and the speed of each console drivers. the ps3 blu-ray drive is slower, add the extra space of the blu-ray disc, all the space not used that is being searched for the needed data takes up load time. on the 360, thanks to the size, this only good thing about dvd 9, is the faster load times, the data can be found faster. and the 360's drive is faster the ps3s, i believe teh ps3 drive goes around 4x a normal drive and the 360's goes at 12x to 24x mattering the use.
5GB is a hell of a lot of data though (over half a DVDs worth), and it's a well known fact that data loads much faster from an HDD or memory stick than it does from a disc. Yes, things will still load from the DMC4 game disc, but that will happen in the background while you play, and in combination with the HDD data. It's the transitions - going from chapter to chapter, indoor environments to outdoor environments, loading a cutscene etc etc - that will be non-existent in the PS3 version, since those are the things that will benefit mostly from the fast HDD data access. Just look at Ninja Gaiden Sigma for example - long loads before the install; zero loads after the install. And no loads in the HDD-bound demo either. Many sites have already stated that DMC4 on PS3 = no loading screens.
okay good, we are on the same page then, you are saying no loads, but are also saying loading for say big areas with lots of things that won't be on the hdd. and thats what i'm saying its not going to elimate the load time all toghter just make them better. it will stream data yep, but that will also be on teh 360, so you will be seeing potentially the same load times on teh 360 and ps3. remember 20gb hdd on the 360 only has 13 usable by the user, 2 used by the console it self and the rest for games (5gbs ;) funny huh). so data streaming off the 360s disc will go onto the 360's hdd, but will not say it just caches it. similar to the oblvion ps3 verison, but on a greater scale of streaming.
