Let's say sometime in the future a major franchise is released on all three current consoles (Wii, 360, PS3) with the strengths of each console utilized to the max. And it turns out by general consensus (most to every review site) that the Wii version is superior due to its controls and other Wii-only features would you buy the Wii version if you own both a PS3/Wii or 360/Wii or all three? Or assuming it's your favorite franchise of all time, would you buy a Wii just to play this "superior" version?

As far as gaming reviews are concerned, Call of Duty 3 has already fulfilled those requirements. Every review I saw praised the game for its controls (although there were still some faults) but obviously could not compare to the 360 or PS3 version.

i agree. a control can only carry you so far, and its proven by the multiplat games for all 3 systems. CoD3 was the worst on the wii. remember back in the day for the nintendo olimpics game with the mat, where you run and do the long jump and you could cheat it by hopping off the mat and get the longest possible jump. or the power glove. these things have failed before. yet nintendo keeps trying.

You play the 360 version because its superior ad the Wii version just to see how the controls are implemented. With the PS3 you still wait for an exclusie game...

What does exclusive games have to do with a thread where we are talking about MULTIPLATFORMS?

That's because the Wii version had no multiplayer (waiting until January before releasing online multiplayer libraries to third parties was a stupid move by Nintendo).

It's not always control, but immersion as well. Control and Graphics are parallel with each other. It depends on the title. If it's a game that heavily depends on mature depictions, then for a non-grainy game, get the Ps3 r maybe 360 version. If the game relies heavily on the gameplay aspects with unique design around the controller, get the Wii version. However, the BEST games are always the first, second party games. Only rarely in a generation do you see a few truly wonderful and worthy 3rd party titles.

because it didn't have online or any multiplayer games AT ALL AND there were control issues.

It happened in the oppoosite for Madden 07, where the Wii version scored higher then both the Xbox 360 and the PS3 by a suprising amount, entirely due to it's controls.

the godfather scored higher on the Wii: http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/Itemsearch.asp and madden score higher on Wii as well:http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/Itemsearch.asp and please, the Wiimote is proving to be superior to the normal controllers daily, it proved it with twilight princess, with madden, with the godfather, and this is just the begginning. BTW nintendo did not make the powe glove, it made the gameboy (which was innovative to begin with) and the DS, the analogue stick, the viberation, etc.

So i kinda get the feeling that people would still rather just have prettier graphics even if a game plays MUCH better on the Wii? pretty much the general feeling? As for me...I'd probably get the Wii version..like stated above, Madden 07 has scored higher by a majority of sites and is my favorite version (i own the Wii and DS version, played the 360 version)

yeah i honeslty forgot about that. However i was going for more of a hardcore MAJOR franchise (think GTA, FF, MGS, etc).
