15. Volgin - Metal Gear Solid 3
14. Solidus - Metal Gear Solid 2
13. Metal Gear REX - Metal Gear Solid
12. Vulcan Raven - Metal Gear Solid
11. Laughing Octopus - Metal Gear Solid 4
10. Sniper Wolf - Metal Gear Solid
9. Fatman - Metal Gear Solid 2
8. Liquid Ocelot - Metal Gear Solid 4
7. Olga - Metal Gear Solid 2
6. Cyborg Ninja - Metal Gear Solid
5. The Sorrow - Metal Gear Solid 3

What do you think, SW? Is this accurate? I think the list is a bit long, lol. I didn't think Fatman and Olga should be on there. Laughing Octopus was pretty bleh. I don't remember Volgin much, so it must have been bleh too. You?

how the **** is REX that low? the Olga and Sorrow fights sucked. Hell, I didn't think the Boss fight was all that good. The best for me is Liquid Ocelot in MGS4

I'll accept that over The Sorrow. That shouldn't make the top 10 in any way shape of form.

Yeah, The Sorrow is awful too.

psst...if you want to fight The Sorrow..there's none, because he's already dead long before the game started. all you have to do is just cross the river and avoid his telepathic "tentacles"...

Lame list. I think they went for most iconic fights instead of what was actually fun. The top spots should be reserved exclusively for MGS1 and MGS2 boss fights because those are the best in the series. The REX fight from MGS1, the fight with the RAYs in MGS2, and the Solidus fight would all make my top five. The Boss is a really overrated fight and I'm surprised people actually find it fun.

What I think :

1) Fatman? Easily one of the worst bosses in the series. He gave me loads of trouble in my Big Boss runs.

2) The Sorrow is not a "boss".

3) Can't believe The Fear is not on the list. What other boss is there in gaming that you can beat by food poisoning?

4) The End fight once took me a hour and a half to beat. All other subsequent playthroughs had me "beat" him by changing the clock.

5) The Vamp 1 and Solidus battles hold a special place in my heart because of the way you can cheese the fights. When fighting Vamp, hang by the rails and wait for him to walk up to you. When he's about to land his attack, climb back up. The climbing animation grants you Invulnerability Frames so that you "pass" through the attack. Do a simple melee combo and repeat the entire thing from the beginning. The same thing can be done in the Solidus fight : hang by the edge, wait for Solidus to come to you and then get up when he's attacking so that you pass through because of the IFs and while Solidus stands like a stupid prat, cut him down to size with your HF Blade.

6) Gear Rex was a joke. It's slow, all its attacks are easy to avoid and most of them leave it vulnerable to Mk22 or Mosin-Nagant spamming. It's very easy to S Rank Gear Rex. I had a tougher time S Ranking Rathalos because it's much faster and can fly.

7) Psycho Mantis can be super easy if you change controller ports. Unfortunately, I own Metal Gear Solid : Integral for the PC so the Psycho Mantis battle was quite challenging.

8) Rex VS Ray and Liquid Ocelot were the only good boss battles in MGS 4. The BnB Corp were utter shit.

9) The Joy, Liquid Snake, Cyborg Ninja and Liquid Ocelot, Vamp 1 and Solidus fights were all fantastic because melee combat yo.

I pretty much agree with this concept as MGS1 and 2 are better than 3 and 4.

Solid list. The Boss is definitely my number one all time battle seeing as I actually shed a tear at the end of it.

The End fight was nothing I had ever experienced. Took me hours to beat him and getting that final sniper shot was exhilarating.

Olga and Fatman were some of the most original boss fights in the series. The Olga fight was one of gaming's first major boss fights revolving around a cover system. And the bomb-disposal element of the Fatman fight was very subversive and remains unique to this day.

The Boss and Liquid Ocelot fights are without a doubt the most emotionally charged fights of the entire series. Nothing comes close. Rex Vs Ray is also up there for pure fan service.

Sniper Wolf is such an underrated character in this franchise, she was both interesting and also a fun boss to battle.

Anyway, am i the only one who thinks The End is very overrated? i mean everyone always talk about how a true Sniper battle would be, but...to be fair, i thought it was kind of boring and tedious, i didn't want to change my date time so i tried to fight him fair and square, and man...that thing was so frustrating, thank God for the Mic option, it made it a little bit less tedious.

Also, The Boss number 1, i can agree with that, that battle while no challenging nor spectacular, it did have a lot of feeling in terms of plot and character development, so yeah, i'm agree with that, but Sniper Wolf should be way higher.
