IGN au REVIEWS CRYSIS=8.3!

I saw a 80% one too in a mag, 4 stars. They gave AC and CoD4 5 stars in the same issue.

Saw that review when it hit and it looks just like some Halo fanboy's rant from SW. It made me lol when I read that a "professional" video game critic was whining about requirements. Where has this guy been? Of course a brand new PC game is going to push the current technology to its limits. Good PC games always do this. This is what moves new hardware.MadExponent

Half-life2 was programmed very well to run on less powerful systems- Crysis is quite the opposite.

I would have given it an 8.5 here. Had fun with the demo but it quickly got boring and a chore to play. Theres just nothing interesting about its setting, characters/creatures or story. The gameplay was great and the graphics were unrealised and out of reach.

To the hermits putting "9.5 /thread" Halo 3 got a 9.5 at Gamespot AND at IGN but you still fail to realise that. Hypocracy for the loss.

Remember when IGN AU gave Halo 3 a 8.9. A lot of people where angry (just look at there comment section). Remember people its there opinion(The Ratchet and Clank defense).cj2121

Makes a lot of sense. Great game, except that nobody can actually play it.

All gaming sites should review games on the same machines, and they should be upper-high end machines but not sli stuff.

That is not true, the gameplay of Crysis is amazing. Even on medium detail you get the open ended gameplay. My machine runs this on high and System requirments should never ever be in the equation when scoring a game.

Anyways, I thought IGN gave the game an 9.4? What is this AU? Australia? whocares? Lets face it, all this review does is complain about the system requirments...if you can't stand the heat than get out of the kitchen. The game is no standard shooter with out the eye candy it is a mind blowing open ended shooter. An absolutly amazing game. In-fact we can now pick out which game sites are fan boys simply by the score of Crysis because it is obvious that anyone who scores Crysis low is either one of these two people

A: A person who has not played the game

B: A person who is jealousy because his PC sucks.

This case with AU IGN it seems to be B. I can play the game fine and I am not running SLI....I must be part of the 0.2% :roll: lol

Honestly, I would say that those are valid points.

I have an 8800 GTS, 2GB DDR2-800, Commando MB, 6600 Quad, and to get a decent framerate I have to run the game @ 1024, no AA (running at very high settings in Vista).

I compare this to running COD4 at everything maxed, getting atleast 30-40 fps, smooth gameplay. Now of course these are two different games, and yes Crysis does look better graphically, but its gameplay takes a hit because of the sluggish performance.

Until it improves, I will probably be playing more COD4 then Crysis.

This is why consoles are better. I use my PC for web-surfing, simple online games like backgammon, MS Word, listening to music, etc.

Consoles are way better for games. You can sit back on the couch with a beer instead of crouched over a keyboard like a hermit.

they only made one game, other than crysis....and unfortunatly for them, it came out the same year as Half Life 2....and despite both getting the same score, Half Life 2 won GOTY...even though Halo 2 scored higher.

... not really... hermits would take it like men. Specifically if the review actually had valid points. But... this review doesn't. Read the review and you will see him complaining that the game doesn't have any chainguns. It does, infact, they are focal point battles in addition to being in the MP game. He didn't even actually play the game. GS however did, and they spoke their opinion. If GS did have valid complaints, we would take it like men. Sort of like we did with Hellgate: London. I personally find Hellgate to be an 8.5 game but I can see why it got a 7.0

Um the reviewer had the best single GPU solution on the market and it ran like crap and yes it does ive seen it myself. If you need a top of the line SLI setup to play a game the way it should be played then yes thats a hinderance. And yes system settings should effect a games rating . Some people have better things to do then spend over 2 grand on a gaming pc.

Guys, this is IGN AU. Autralia. NOT IGN. IGN gave Crysis a 9.4.

Also, I do run this game nearly maxed. Everything on high except for physics on Very High, water on Very High, particles on Very High, and shadows on Medium (I don't care much for shadows) with 25-35fps, which is very smooth in Crysis. Here are some pictures of my comp playing Crysis, and it looks better then any game I've seen (except for Crysis).

Lol, ages you say. Most of my pc games don't even support widescreen. Seems to me like you haven't been playing pc games for too long, especially if you consider that 1080p availible for pc games has been around for ages.
