just shows all the people crying that the game would suck because of different devs and added mp were wrong. also, just because ign gave it a 9.1, doesnt mean gs wont rate it 9 or higher. you know, gs doesnt always rate lower than ign (looks at mag). awesome game, got it paid off already and ready to pick up at midnight monday.

judging from the hate its getting on here with everyone saying itll be subAAA on gs and suck, i think its safe to assume that bioshock 2 will win the "most underappreciated game" award for 2010.

I never understood the hate for the Bioshock franchise. So many people hate the first one too... But whatever, it will remain as my favorite game this gen. Bioshock 2 looks like it will be better than the original, so you can bet I am very excited for it.
I'm hoping it will at least live up to the first installments name. I don't expect it to be as perfectly knit as that was, but hopefully it will do what's expected out of an sequel.
Well deserved score! The game actually looks a lot better after the review and I can assure this purchase finally. I was a bit sceptical about the online but my questions were answered appearantly and it DOES look addicting.

What? It didn't get a pass? Is a 9.1/10 suddenly a bad score? I never stated it was a bad score. It improved in a lot of areas according to IGN, but wasn't a breath of fresh air like the first. Hence, going from what the first received to what the sequel received. That was the risk. I'm surprised it didn't get a pass like most established IPs do. That's what I expected.
Only played the demo of the first Bioshock and I was in love with it from the start. I expect this one to blow my mind, and if I like it enough I'll even pick up the first. Got three games I wanna buy this month, (NMH2, Edgeworth, Heavy Rain, so I'll have to pick this up next month.)

you should play the first before you play the second. i heard that they reference some things in the first game in audio diaries and in the environment in the second game, so you dont want to miss out. also, the first has the best twist ive experienced in a game yet.

Play the first before the sequal. Seriously, it's a must. The game is story driven and A LOT of story elements from the first are in the second. You won't know wtf is going on.
Considering GS gave Halo: ODST a 9.0, I'd be surprised if Bioshock 2 didn't get at least that good a score. ODST was short, had very similar gameplay to Halo 3, and didn't add all that much in the multiplayer aspect (other than the Firefight thing).
