He exaggerated that the PS3 was the most successful launch ever? If that's how you want it phrased it's fine by me. You should consider working in PR yourself.

I wouldn't have said it , but a figure of speech is easy to defend. I think I would do a better job , but it probably won't make a difference either way. No ps3 doubting fanboy that has no intention of buying a ps3 in the first place would reconsider if  PR nub said all the right things.

I think I'm getting as sick of MS as much as he is. Why do so many people focus on stupid bells and whistles which are meaningless like acheivement points?! Maybe people need brownie points to feel good when gaming? OMG wake up!

Who loves Major Nelson ? Lemmings ? He is a joke to everyone else.Fans love Miyamato yes and Reggie is a butt-kicker , but all of the butt-kicking and love won't save some products like the gamecube and gameboy micro.

What's so bad about them? They just give you something extra to shoot for when playing games. It's not like they're needed or anything, just nice to have.

Personally, I think people who bash them are just angry on some level that Sony or Nintnendo didn't think of them first.

Who loves Major Nelson ? Lemmings ? He is a joke to everyone else.Fans love Miyamato yes and Reggie is a butt-kicker , but all of the butt-kicking and love won't save some products like the gamecube and gameboy micro.

The point is that most 'in the know' people would agree that things are not quite as bad for the PS3 as the public perception suggests. So clearly they has been a failure by the Sony PR department to present the PS3 in a positive light.

You don't think that failure is having an impact on sales?

It's bizare to me that Nintendo doesn't have something similar. They are the masters of earning trophies or medals in games. Secret unlockables etc.

PR is there to make people believe the price is justifable and worthwhile and to get people excited about upcomming releases.

If Sony had managed to do this a little better sales would better.

Instead the current consensus view is that it is a more expensive 360 with less games. That is hurting sales alot!

I should be Sony's PR. Do they not know the PS2 was the best launch in video game history. Why are the saying such silly things like the PS3 was the best?

i agree the ps3 SHIPPED more at launch than ps1 and ps2 but sold less,but i disagree it did better than ps1 and ps2

Who says people aren't excited about the ps3 and upcoming games ? Ps2 owners are in a nice position right now that they don't have to buy a competitor's product or upgrade to the ps3 at this very moment (unless they want to).There are many people content and thinking about when they can jump in when games and their funds meet at a happy place. That is going to be different for everyone.

If people see the 360 as better because of price , there is not much that can be done at this point. I don't see the 360's sales hardly any more significant than the original xbox at this point in time. Are they not taking ps2 fans or is it a product of the hefty pricepoint ? It all seems too early to say either way what will happen.
