[QUOTE="ForzaGearsFace"]Really the op actually discredits ign completely lol don't ever update this is classicKevinButlerVPwell at this point explain it is useless, lems will continue to deny despite direct confirmation from Sony its ok though, the truth is out U3 reigns supreme with 3.8 million copies day 1 while Gears 3 struggled to pull of 3 million in its first WEEK It have sell 3.8 million copies day 1.....can't imagine how it will sell in the first WEEK.10 million copies..??
wow on its first day? i think it will go head to head with gears3 sales. but imo gears 3 will sell more on its lifetime.
[QUOTE="Austindro"]Really? So changing it from sold to to sold in becomes a victory? Lol. Oh Lems, how your standards have fallen. That would explain Kinect, though.^ lol lems won the battle today

I don't even own a 360...
Cows were saying it was 3.8 million sold to consumers which was hilarious. They got owned.
it just goes to show that it doesn't matter if a game is exclusive or not as long you promote it well. I don't think Sony put this much marketing muscle behind GT5's release and that's Playstations premier franchise.Swift_Boss_AGT sells by name alone. Kind of like how Halo, Mario, and Zelda are.

Halo sells well bc of game quality.

No, IGN said that. Then when a number a lems scoured the internet for the sold-in info, this thread became a mixture of people congratulating on the success either way it actually was, Lems feeling insecure about that there was still positive thoughts about the thread, and Cows laughing at the Lems for how they were handling what in any objective manner is great news. Didn't GeoW ship 3mil in one day/week (whichever)? Sounds like it had more. Or maybe my simple math is off. And no, its still not damage control. Gears of War 3 numbers were sold to consumers in a week, we don't know how many they shipped. They had over a million pre-orders. Battlefield 3 shipped 10 million and sold over 4 million to consumers, it is a multiplat though.

And that changes it being really good... how? As for my other point... Okay, "not lem", don't address the important point that I've made multiple times already. Microsoft clearly stated the 3 millions first week for GOW3 was sold through to customers. "A couple things worth noting about that sales landmark: first, Microsoft says that's three million copies sold to customers, not shipped to retailers, which is a subtle trick some companies use to inflate their numbers." http://www.gamesradar.com/gears-war-3-sells-3-million-copies-first-week/. Raging about Sony's shipped numbers. LOL, somebody pass me a towel, it is hot in here.looks like were nearing the 20 page point, and this thread is still pretty lems raging

[QUOTE="contracts420"]
[QUOTE="KevinButlerVP"]and again people still deny the facts, I think the confirmation needs to come from someone more credible like... Microsoft because surely Sony and other news sources are absolutely incorrect lmfaoshinrabanshou
NPD is US only the 3.8 million is world wide. There is no argument, Sony has confirmed it END OF STORY.djsifer01It's a shipment/sell-in/sold-to-retail figure.
IGN was wrong.
This thread needs to be locked or the title/OP changed.
Well it seems to be that it is shipped, not sold. I can admit that I was wrong. Unlike some people in this thread. But you'd figure that IGN would have updated the Uncharted 3 sales page. Which is why I figured it was still SOLD to customers. But apparently they don't know how to go back and edit a story after an update.
Still hope the game sells well. Seems like good games on PS3 don't sell at all half the time. I may prefer PS3 over my 360 but geez, nobody on PS3 supports the exclusives. But then again most people probably bought it for the Bluray player. Probably like a 5 million install base that actually you know... plays games on it.
[QUOTE="KevinButlerVP"]WTF are you talking about? IGN made a mistake, the numbers are shipped not sold, yet there are still cows on this thread claiming otherwise. stop embarrasing yourselves. its basically the same thing, either way Sony has been payed for 3.8 million copies of U3 which is all that matters individual customer sales are estimates anyways, these are official numbers from Sony and people still can't accept them rofllooks like were nearing the 20 page point, and this thread is still pretty lems raging

Idd anything IGN says about anything game related or something to do with uc3 jst turn away and don't lsn -_-. proves again how incompetent they are[QUOTE="Allthishate"][QUOTE="shinrabanshou"]Frankly, it looks rather stupid to attack this. "Ha, ha, your game sold-in 3.8 million!" :?
Alternatively, they'll look like they want Uncharted 3 to sell poorly? That's the most rabid of fanboy territory, not gamer territory.
The folly is IGN's and anyone who believed them.
DireOwl
You know the saddest part of that? Tomorrow IGN could say that GTAV is exclusive to PS3. Or Microsoft is buying EA, and droves of people would be claiming ownage. Fanboys hear what they want to hear. IGN can spew attention drawing nonsense as much as they want and people will say they are credible to suit their argument.
if u think they are bad with game reviews and jst getting the facts stright u should read there tv show reviews. anything but the vampire dires(uc3 to them of gaming) gets full marks and anything thing cant get 10's XD[QUOTE="sts106mat"][QUOTE="KevinButlerVP"]WTF are you talking about? So has MS then for all those Kinects, 360s, and games! :D
Also can you make me a sig like yours but put Gears 3 in there and then put every PS3 exclusive that came out this year on the right side. Oh and write 2011 better luck next year! ;)
[QUOTE="sts106mat"][QUOTE="KevinButlerVP"] these are official numbers from Sony and people still can't accept them roflKevinButlerVPthats not the case, people accept that sony shipped 3.8m. they DID NOT accept that 3.8 million copies were sold to consumers on day one, that is all. there is no confusion anymore. just stop. like I said there is little difference, copies get shipped to retailers based on demand
This is not entirely true and a bit misleading Batman shiped 4.6 million in the frist week but anly sold 2 million copies in that same window period, So of those 3.8 million maube only half 1.5 if not less were actually sold to customers.

Yea, their expectation was 3.79 million shipped.Sony said sales EXCEEDED expectations.
I guess lems have to redesign their battle plans which included:
Gears 3 outselling all PS3 exclusives combinedCows don't buy their exclusivesKiZZo1

Sounds legit. Given it took UC2 an year to do that ...
I wonder when shipped became okay?
Not so long ago we would have threads and people would go in there saying "shipped" and that was it.
Shipped meant "nothing special".
Seriously what are you talking about? Cows did not buy all those copies because those numbers are SHIPPED and Gears probably is close to out selling all the exclusives .Sony said sales EXCEEDED expectations.
