it's definitely a graphical showcase but the gameplay just looks like it's going to be super repetitive..

casual players may like it for the nice graphics and relatively easy combat but i dont forsee good reviews in this game's future..

Steve Butts is too good for IGN.

It's because Ryse looks like total garbage. Barely even a game. Even MGS2 looks like it's more of a game than Ryse will be. And that's saying something.

Ryse is a great example of the diffrence betwen console gaming and pc gaming. You have barely interactive movies, we have Rome II.

I'm really disappointed after hearing the Darksiders Team worked on this game.

Sure, Darksiders doesn't have the greatest combat but it was much better than this sounds.

The Darksiders team has only been with Crytek for a couple of months. I doubt they had a huge impact on this game. This game also seems to have gone through a lot of revisions. First it was a 360 game, now it's a Xbone game. First it was a Kinect game, now you can play with controller. If you keep changing your game like that it can end up a mess.

If they wanted to make it good they should have just cloned darksiders gameplay. Or better yet, cancelled it and just gave out free copies of Rome II.

Good point. I'm only going by what I read in an article. 

But yeah. Not looking good. Too Human had the same problem. Went through a bajillion revisions and finally landed on the Xbox 360 flopping critically and commercially.

Maybe this game should have stayed as a Kinect title...

And Ryse looks great visually, but as dull as it gets gameplay wise right now, I'd rather take Dead Rising 3 or Forza over that any day.

I'd disagree.  While, yeah, there are many "cinematic games" on consoles, I'd argue there are more that aren't like that.
