I'll say it again...Microsoft is scared of Sony

Microsoft, for some reason, feels that they need this to compete with Sony.  Microsoft isn't scared of Nintendo.  Microsoft knows it has its exclusives that won't EVER go to a Nintendo platform.  Microsoft though has been scared of Sony for awhile now.  E3 sealing the GTAIV deal...going multiplat on day one of release. 

I'm sure Microsoft gave tons of money to RockStar to insure this.  Microsoft knew how big a GTA title has been in the past with Sony platforms.  I think Microsoft is REALLY PUSHING devs to insure Halo 3 comes out this year.  They want that title to help boost sales for the holiday season.  Why?  Because they are scared that if Halo 3 doesn't release, Sony will have the bigger holiday.   

Xbox 360 Elite?  Microsoft felt it needed yet another incarnation of the 360 to compete with PS3.  PS3 after all has already sold the same number of units in the same period as 360 did.  Microsoft is trying incredibly hard to influence Square to make a FF13 game for the 360.  Why?  Because they want to sell the 360 in Japan desperately?  Why?  Because Microsoft KNOWS JAPAN IS IMPORTANT!  Microsoft is constantly trying to play Sony's game.  Releasing Blue Dragon and trying to have new quirky titles that the Japanese like.  They are failing anyway.  But Japan doesn't matter huh?  Microsoft says otherwise.

I agree with the OP on most points.  MS IS scared of Sony....in the console wars.  Both the XBox and the 360 have yet to be profitable to the company.  They need the 360 to take off and win, or the shareholders will not be happy. 

However, as for the whole company, no, MS is not scared of Sony at all, as they focus on two entirely different markets.

MS doesn't need to be afraid of Sony. Both companies have other sources of income, and besides, the PS3 is flopping hard enough on its own.

As far as the PS3 sales go, considering that the PS2 sold five times as many units as the Xbox, the PS3 keeping pace with 360 sales at the same point in the systems' lifespans is nothing to write home about.

Again if you know this is pointless what you keep doing it?,you enjoy humiliation or something?.I know random threads and fanboyism is the heart of SW but i think SW is almost dead,no one is giving a damn after the E3 of 2006,unless someone is owned hard SW is dead.

Whatever.  Still doesn't change the fact that based on the responses I get to my posts lately, I feel as if I'm somehow the only person on system wars with an opinion.  I guess I'll KEEP ALL OF MY THREADS FOR NOW ON VERY SHORT, because I've learned one thing well in this forum....it is pointless to try to ever get a point across without getting flamed and insulted. 

I learned that too but in the hard way,try to say something positive about Sony without being flammed in fact try to say something positive about MS or Sony without being flammed,the population of this forum is 65% sheep so i gave up on doing intelligent threads,i started to make fun threads but somehow they were offensive to someone and it was just about a dancing fat kid with a wii.

If you have something smart to say keep it to yourself since no one especially here in SW will give a damn or take it seriously thats what i learned in SW.

If you have a competing product and you are not concerned with what that competetor is up to and you are not actively seeking a way to negate a competitors advantage then you have already lost. I don't understand what the point of this even was. If it is some sort of attempt to throw a bad light on M$ then thats fine Sony needs the help. If it is just another attempt to stir up the SW hornets nest then thats cool also. If it was an attempt to say something meaningful then you failed.Riverwolf007

Yet there was another thread earlier with a completely different poster that read something like "147 new Forza 2 pics"...people in that thread were saying "downgrade" right and left and saying how BAD THE PICS LOOKED!  But, I guess since I MADE A THREAD ABOUT IT, then people suddenly change their minds.  People are out to own me no matter what I say now!  It's a fact!

Yeah, like all those threads that say...

...and nothing else!  Those are incredibly intelligent. :roll: I'm not saying my threads are smart by any stretch of the imagination, but I do make fairly long posts with my own personal opinions on subjects.  I also use facts...PS3 has no rumble...NOT DEBATABLE!  PS3 sold same number of units in same time period as 360...NOT DEBATABLE!  PS3 is $200 more expensive than premium 360...NOT DEBATABLE.  Microsoft trying to steal exclusives away with lots of money....NOT DEBATABLE!  But I guess you're right anyway!  I need to change my threads and make them well thought out...because God knows there are soooo many of those in system wars with people calling each other names and flaming each other to death.  Sorry for having a freaking opinion!  Maybe my next thread should just saying ":lol: at the Wii!  How kiddy!" without any other substance to it.  I'm sure that would be 1,000,000 times better than my posts! :roll:

Good thread. MS definitely views Sony as a competitor, if you wanna call that being scared, then go ahead.

It just seems that MS realizes that Sony is truly their toughest competition since their consoles cater to a similar demographic (with the PS brand luring more casuals).
