wow. Ok well considering the Wii fit plus the cost of the Wii will make it just as expensive as a 360 or Ps3 im going to have to say dang. Nintendo knows how to milk people with crap.

Wii fit is one game i actually wanted for the wii, but just get up and go to a gym. There isnt anything that Wii Fit can do that you cant do RIGHT NOW. I guess u could make the arguement that anyone could go outside right now and start stealing cars and blowing crap up like GTA. But there arnt any respawn points in RL! (FPS doug)

HarlockJC

Lets see, pay $90 and be able to play multiple games designed for the Balance Board vs pay for a gym membership, monthly. My money would go to Wii Fit.

truthfully i would rather get the gym membership(which i already have, i love games, but for that 90 dollars im able to pay for a full half year, and going to a gym will do more for me then wii fit ever would be able to, dont get me wrong, i think that nintendo is very great for trying to introduce some level of excersize into a gaming console, but imo id go with the gym membership :P

What Gym do you go to any GYM where I live is at least $40 a month. When I did go with my family it was costing me almost $100 a month.

its a local place, depending on how old you are the prices will vary but a one year membership is like 150 bucks, and that gives you access to a regular gym, swimming pools (with diving board and a lap pool), hot tub, running track, and a sauna

Your lucky where I live it would cost you $150 just to get a membership then you pay monthly.

Is this a serious topic? According to that article on Gamespot, GTA4 already has 6 million preorders, come on? There's no way in hell.

The Bally's chain in my area has a deal where you do $19 down, $19 a month, and you get to go either Tues, Thurs, Sat or Wed, Fri, Sun. It doesn't include as much as a $40/mo. membership, but it definitely works. While Wii Fit is still going to be cheaper, I'd rather pay $247 (the total for the $19/mo. deal) for a year of working out at a real gym, with real equipment than $90 for a videogame accessory. But I'll admit that Wii Fit is a better alternative than sitting on your couch doing nothing.

Man in Jacksonville the GYMs here cost a ton compared to where you guys live.

I love DDR if you look at my XBox gamertag you can see how much plus I own everyone on the PS1 and PS2. So playing Wiifit is not that far of a strech.

Thats right... while everyone thinks that gta will be the best selling game this year, they forget the type of appeal that wii fit has. It will sell more than gta4 - its already doing amazing in japan, and it will only do better in america, home of the fat and free!

mark my words :)

drmariodad

I wouldnt doubt it since the wii does have a bigger fanbase. One thing we all know for sure though is that GTA4 will be much funner then wii-fit and besides that I think only people who will buy wii-fit are fat gamers who dont work out.

I'm sure it will sell well; every stupid add-on to the Wii will (not that I'm making a judgement about Wii Fit in the previous sentence). However, I don't think judging it based on pre-orders really proves anything; it's not like there are infinite pre-orders in the world, thus it's not hard to believe they'd sell out.

First I disagree that it a stupid add on.....Man I hate using that word anyways

No all pre-orders are limited. There is a max number given to any store for any game. In this case it seems that the most locations in the UK are going to be sold out of Wii Fit unless Nintendo is able to make more. Really the only thing which will keep demand of this game down is limited by the fact that Nintendo still can not make enough Wii to meet current demand.

I'm really interested to see how Wiifit does in the US. I would have to say it won't do very well unless advertising is ramped up as most people I talk to about games (I talk to tons people all day in my job) have no idea about Wiifit. I could see a few million but I'm pretty clueless really.

360 GTA IV sales > Mario Kart Wii sales > Wii Fit sales > PS3 GTA IV = but with close numbers

Dont make me laugh.

You're right, you might be crying instead.

Why would I be crying. Crying of laughter or pain?

Dont bother withReverseCycology. Hes a fanboy. I can see wiifit selling more then gta4 MAYBE. I mean the casual market has grown ALOT.

Funny since the GTA games are some of the most casual games ever released...

Drmariodad are you fat and you need a game to be thin or you see Wii-fit THAT enjoyable to buy it instead of GTA4?

Whatever the sales GTA4 >>>>>> Wii-fit. Content wise , fun wise , story wise , GAME wise. So go do your exercises while i have fun with GTA. Besides im not fat.

LOL Ok let me change that. Yea its a casual game, but Wii fit is a casual game that isn't rated M and doesn't involve shooting hookers and beating up random people. So WiiFit would have a more open casual audience.

FF94-like parents watch what their kids play.... from my point of view, ESRB ratings have never played a big role in audience participation. Look at how many kids younger than the 'M' age group play Halo3, and look at sales. Wii Fit is the diet you cant stick to, its the bowflex you overpay for and stop using after a week.

well 21.5 mill sold over several years with a userbase currently over 100million ,

now a userbase of
