What's the official final word here. I mean, according to GS SW?

Offically a draw unless MS or Sony throws us another bone and releases a surprise sales report before WiiU launch. Probably now going to happen but would be hilarious if they did.
I don't think anyone really cares tbh

Considering there are three threads with cows "claiming ownage" and lems "damage controlling", I would think quite a few care. :P
[QUOTE="PinnacleGamingP"]ps3 won, but some lems will make you think its a tie. even if this was the case, the tiebreaker would go to the season series winner where the PS2 destroyed the xbox, therefore by default!!lundy86_4
How, exactly, did the PS3 win?
Don't bite the troll bait please.
PS3 is always been in last place and still is. When the year is over and it will be proven. It's not a draw, as XBox 360 sales between October 1st and Sony's announcement haven't been included. There's no way it could be a tie. PS3 is still in last place. What's the official final word here. I mean, according to GS SW?
Mystery_Writer
The gap has gotten to the point of a tie, likely slightly leaning in 360 favor after holidays, but ps3 will surpass it next Spring & Summer.
In the long run I see the ps3 getting the 2nd place title as Sony good at supporting their older products compared to Microsoft, and the fact that Bluray become a standard in many house holds.
Wii still won by a long shot though.

I think Cows are damage controlling as they know that they lost.In the areas that matter, outside Japan, 360 is like 20 million systems ahead of PS3
That is all you need to know (unless you live in Japan i guess)

It's more amusing watching them flounder, yet attempt to prove they're right. Lovely.
I understand the Wii U is launching, but this generation is not over yet. If anything, you will simply have two generations overlapping each other until the PS4 and Xbox 720 arrive. During the mid 90's the fourth generation did not suddenly end because of the Saturn and Playstation 1. Nintendo and Sega still fought over market share for the 16-bit market, and both systems remained strong sellers until late 1996/early 1997. But during that time, yo had two generations overlapping. The Fourth Generation that had systems like the SNES and Genesis and the Fifth Generation that has the PS1 and Saturn. The Fifth Generation did not really take off until a few years after those systems debuted.
And the Wii U is not even the first eighth generation system. That honor belongs to the 3DS and Vita.
It's not over between the Xbox 360 and PS3 until both systems finally leave the market. Even after the PS4 and Xbox 720, if those two systems are still fighting it out, then the seventh generation is not over.

70 milj in 6 years is better than 70 milj in 7 years
So xbox360 came in last
Zurrur
Sorry doesn't work that way. 70 mil is 70 mil, whether it took you 6 or 7 years to make it is irrelevant.
The 360 crossed 70 million a month before the PS3 did, so while the gap is practically negligible, the PS3 is still behind the 360. khoofia_pika
If that's the case, then it's logical the PS3 ended up last.
Why then so many threads claiming X360 ended up last?

Well maybe because the initial numbers included the PS2 sales as well. lol!! I think Sheep and Lems are happy knowing they took a significant part of the market share from Sony. The Playstation didn't dominate anything this generation. It got destroyed in software sales as well.[QUOTE="OneLazyAsian"][QUOTE="blackace"] I think Cows are damage controlling as they know that they lost. blackace

Dude. Cows. They'll grab on to whatever they can to claim some kind of victory.Officially, based on the most recent sales data released by MS and Sony neither (or both). They're tied.
Realistically and logically speaking, the PS3, since the PS3's numbers tied data Microsoft released a month and a half ago. Unless you make the moronic assumption that the 360 suddenly stopped selling in that time period, especially in the run up to Halo 4 and Black Ops II, there's no other logical conclusion.

 you wanna use month and half ago headstart on numbers argument, but you dont wanna use year head start on the same argument. your argument, is sad. but lets do it. a month of RROD, and a half for E74. count the free 360s? No. how bout this tho, my rate of sales flow, still mathematically outdoes your month and half sales bro.This^. If Sony really did overtake the 360, don't people think we would have heard about it from Sony? Not in some stupid, "hey we shipped 70 million ps3s", but in a "hey look, we just beat the 360! We are the number one HD console on the market today!", kind of way. For one, that's great for the company, and two, its great to steal a little thunder from the WiiU launch. On the other hand, if it is true, obviously Microsoft don't give a fuk If they did, they would be releasing numbers or dropping the price of the 360 immediately to capture back the lead. Therefore, no one in the industry gives a fukI don't think anyone really cares tbh

Because I don't think you do. You sure as hell don't know how to write it in a coherent manner.

The_Game21x
That certainly is correct. But, you also have to consider that the PS3 has been selling at a faster rate and closing the gap. I remember posting (just this summer...or maybe that was last month) about that after seeing the spring and summer sales numbers and how the PS3 may catch up or even pass the 360 before the year is over. Of course, I didn't realize the WiiU is just around the corner. If it's still current-gen after the WiiU release, the PS3 has a good chance of surging to 2nd. If not, then the 360 retains 2nd. But, prolonging this gen would be more advantageous to the PS3. That's my take on it.

flow-chart* srry bro, if you were to mathematically graphically represent it to yourself, you would see the difference between the lines show you that even a year of extra 360 sales, still couldnt beat the ps3, let alone a month and a half..........oh wait, we already got the year included too.yea they are both tied. im pretty sure it isn't but the numbers are negligent unless anyone releases data with more exact figures by tuesday.....im pretty sure ms wouldOffically a draw unless MS or Sony throws us another bone and releases a surprise sales report before WiiU launch. edit: as far as im concerned this is for 2nd or last place so its just a mini victory for sony, and a mini failure for lemmings. in the end, neither one of them grabbed the top spot
