I'm gonna eat my words! PS3 (EDIT - I DID IT)

I'm not a fanboy... but at the beginning of this gen. I claimed I would not buy a PS3... for various reasons.

#1 The price was ridiculous, imo. and I have very little interest in Blu-Ray movies atm, due to where I live currently.

#2 but most importantly it just didn't have anything, software wise, that interested me.

#3 Both Sony & MS are manipulative, but Sony seems to make more promises that are not delivered on than MS.

Now....

#1 Price is still $369 CAD, where I live... but its reasonable now, imo.

#2 There are a few IP's I'd really like to check out now.

#3 Sony is still full of crap, imo.... but I mostly just care about the games, which are coming now & in the near future.

What exclusive games would you recommend.... I'm thinking

Uncharted I & II

Resistance I and II later on if I enjoy #1

GoW Collection when it ships... I never played any of the series.

Heavenly Sword if I can find it cheap... I like what I've seen of the game.

PS.... Please don't recommend MGS4.... I hate that crap.

Killzone 2 is a good game. Wipeout HD is the vest downloadable game this gen (imo), so give that a look as well. There are also a number of people who would recommend Valkyria Chronicles. I've never played it, but it looks good.

Yeah Demons Soul looks good.... and I enjoyed Ratchet & CLank on the PS2, so yeah...

Valkyria Chronicles looks good... though I don't know diddly about it, other than its a JRPG, and I like the art style.

It looks like you picked most of my favorites.

Resistance 1 & 2 are pretty different games. In one, I enjoyed the campaign much more with a second person in split screen. 2 eliminated the weapon wheel and co-op element of the main campaign, but has bigger set-pieces and the online co-op is just brilliant.

Heavenly Sword is a great little short game that doesn't drag out the story at all and ends when it should, it's just short.

If you like online competative, Warhawk plays a lot like Star Wars Battlefront with different weapons, plus interesting VTOL aircraft.

inFamous is a fun game worth a couple play-throughs to see the different paths.

Killzone 2 has a very intense campaign but the controls tend to divide people. I liked it, it just takes a bit getting used to.

Ratchet & Clank are a lot of fun with low difficulty.

Singstar: ABBA, because we know you want to. :P

VC is supposedly an RTS/TPS/TBRRPG hybrid thing...

rent uncharted. it is extremely short and has no replay value. as for resistance, i've only played the demo but it seemed like just another generic shooter. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND PICK UP LITTLE BIG PLANET! best game on ps3 hands down. you can probably pick it up used on amazon for like 30 bucks

So far, my favorites have been Uncharted, Resistance 1 and 2 and LBP. Killzone 2 was ok but nothing impressive and I agree with you, MGS4 was grossly over rated.

Well I would personally stay away from LBP unless you just want to build things as it isn't much of a platformer. Get R&C TOD a much better game. Also you have to get Uncharted as it is such an epic game though it is a little short it's longer than HS. Resistance is a decent game but I preferred KZ2.

Motorstorm and MS: PR are pretty great racing games if you are into those types of games. I hear Valkyria Chronicles is great, the demo did not realy grab my attention so I am yet to give it a sincere try. I also hear Demon Soul's is amazing, but once again I am yet to give it a try. I only have a PS3 and most of my favorite games are multiplat... Besides that the almighty MGS4 which I did not mention as you stated you hate that crap.

I don't own it, but Folklore looks interesting. especially if you can get it relatively cheap. I'm getting Demon's Souls on the 6th (Or whenever Best Buy puts the damn game on their site).. I can't wait. and as a side note, I LOVED MGS4... It was easily one of the best games I've played.. ever.0rin

Heavenly Sword will be a great buy at 20 bucks....um LBP is a must buy BUT I had a lot more fun with it while I played with friends BUT I found it to be a fun trophy game while I played on my own.

I think KZ2 is a must buy, the SP is pretty decent...about a 7.5 but I would easily rate the mulitplayer a 9.0

If you're into baseball at all...MLB 09 The Show is fantastic.

I would say Uncharted 1 and 2, Valkyria chronicles, Demons Souls LBP ( u must have this its soo much fun) , killzone 2 which is an amazing FPS and dont forget the Ratchet and Clank games :) .. hope you enjoy your ps3

I suggest UC2 and LBP. Easily two of the biggest exclusives for PS3. Killzone 2 is pretty great too, but it's a very hardcore title that is going to destroy casual players IMO

Demon's souls, infamous, Uncharted, Yakuza Kenzan and 3 (If you understand japanese), Flower, Fat princess, MGS4 (one of the best games on PS3 though you dont like it) and LBP well I enjoyed all these games.

Does the PS3 controller charge if the PS3 isn't turned on? I plugged it in after unboxing & setup.... and there are no lights on, indicating that its charging....

My son is using the TV atm, so I havent turned on my new toy yet.

Well I gotta say, my first impressions are not great.... bought a Wii & 360... had them online in a matter of 2 or 3 min. tops.... Been ******* around with the PS3 for the last hour trying to get it to work.... "test connection" - "connected" Oh SUPER!

go to Update System.... and get either "can't find a connection" or when I try a wired setup, something about no Cable plugged in, or connected.... tried multiple slots on my router just to be sure it wasn't a bad port on it....

Ugh.... I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.
