lol, if you don't think the game strung cases together to the very end then you really werent paying much attention lol. almost everything in the game ended up connected to each other in one way or another if you looked at it right...and the affair part i wouldn't even consider a twist. so yea, i don't really agree with ur post at all...LucidJubilation
Really? Every case in homicide, arson and vice all came together for a coherent story? Care to explain how those cases strung together?
The game never really peaked my interest so I probably won't end up purchasing the game... or renting it for that matter. After RDR I have lost some faith in Rockstar games. I enjoyed GTAIV though. Great game.
GTAIV was awesome
RDR was meh
Midnight Club LA was pure crap
L.A Noire looks to be repetitive and not worth my time

i'm not going to go through the whole game since its 30 hours long and 21 cases. but on Cole's first day as a detective they made a point of mentioning the plans for making the highway through the city...didnt the last few cases end up all being tied to the making of the highway? or how Kelso's boss was also a pedophile and how that tied into an earlier traffic case. if you really paid attention and understood you'd see how every case was tied into other cases from a small degree to a large all the way through the game in one way or another. i really appreciate the story in this game...it was very well done. nothing was really pointless(in the main story).I've found all of Rockstar's work this gen to be very overrated, so I'm not surprised. If I play it, I am going in with low expectations.-RocBoys9489-
This guy can read my mind. RDR is wicked overrated, so I'm not expecting a whole lot from LA Noire.
It isn't as good as RDR, gameplay or storywise, and Cole Phelps as a protagonist is a lot less likeable and relateable than John Marston.
Everyone could connect with Marston on some level because he made so many mistakes in his life, and he legitimately felt bad for most of them, but there was also that apathy we all have a little bit of.
Additionally, his personality is more grounded by the time we see him, and from what I've played through LA Noire, Phelps was basically a smarmy douche while he was in the Army.
I think it's the finest release so far this year, though I get what you mean. It does suffer some repetitive moments particularly in homicide.
If you played the game expecting it to be a GTA clone then your doin it wrong brah.johny300Please, point to where in this thread someone said that. I'd love to see it. I was expecting an excellent game, not this.
I was disappointed overall. Really repetitive and poorly executed. There are things that could have been a lot better with only minimal effort and there are even things that are not in the game that had me scratching my head in a "its 2011, why can't i do that in this game?" type of way.
The lack of much continuity didn't help either. The game is chock full of characters that are impossible to like or relate to or care about.
If you remove the facial animations which are even flawed themselves, what you have is a drop dead average game at best. Totally undeserving of anything more than 6's and 7's imo.
what was funny is that what motivated me to finish it was getting it back to gamefly in time to not miss the infamous 2 release not to see the ending because at about the halfway point i just didn't care anymore.
is it a good game? yes it's good and i am glad to see it be popular and sell well but it is not some masterpiece or anything which is what the majority of revews make it out to be.
i do think the face tech is pretty amazing though i would not mind that becoming a standard tool kit like phys-x or havok or whatever.
really poor game. it feels like an interactive movie without a story all you do is - tap A everywhere at crime scene, talk to someone, 30 second chase scene, interrogate (dont have evidence? dont pick lie. is he rolling his eyes around the room nervously? pick doubt.) then arrest. thats all there is to the game. its badtheSteeeeelsThat is just absurd. First off the game didn't play like a interactive movie (I'm guessing you don't know what an IM actually plays like?) and the game does have a story. You're not just sloving random cases that do not tie together.
