The game is good but the online componant upon release was plauged by a lot of glitches and bugs. Most of the hate though, came from the controversial russian level and no dedicated servers for pc.
its just become the popular game to hate on
even tho they added alot of new stuff people liketo sayits the same game as cod4
System Wars hates extremely popular games: Modern Warfare 2/Halo 3 mainly.
But they won't hate Gran Turismo, I wonder why...ratios, ratios....
to get back on topic, it's a messy game online, there's quite a few glitches and all that. fun, but not as fun as Left 4 Dead, off topic again, sorry.
No Dedicated Servers for PC users like the rest of the COD games.
and Glitches.

meh, why should PC just be the ones to get dedicated though?
If you think about it, the vast amount of players across 3 platforms + Reflex and the other Modern Warfare versions would require WAY too many servers from Infinity Ward.
All platforms have games with dedicated servers on select games, just not understanding why game devs. have to be selective to one particular group.

You can keep adding new stuff to an old formula and the game woudl still get old. That is part of the reason I didn't play Halo 3 online nearly as much as Halo 2, it was just more of the same when it came down to it.
I don't find myself going back to old FPSs for the reason that they bore me. Luckily games like BF BC 2 and Borderlands keep innovating in different ways that make games fresh, even if it is only for a year or two before those also get stale.

I have no freakin' clue. I guess PC users don't want to lag because of someone's connection.
Why does this game get so much hate? It is absolutely awesome, and Im a very hard guy to impress when it comes to gaming. Playing on the 360 I think the graphics in the singleplayer is the best on the console, the gameplay is excellent, and its engaging, i Just finished the West Virginia stage. Now why does this game get so much hate saying it isnt a good game? Thanks .360BandW
graphics are laughable compared to KZ2, U2, GEOW2, even FC2. Please never talk about graphics with a cod game, yet they are decent. ITs all about the noobish gameplay :P
.
The game is good, but many people don't like the controversial level where you shoot civilians in an airport. The game is also very popular, which is reason enough for some people to hate it.TheDuffman26The No Russian level has nothing to do with why people "hate" this game. They think hating the game is equal to hating activision because they hate the guy running activision. It is stupid, but thats why message boards exist. To give these people a chance to let their voices be heard and vent about stupid stuff that they would never be caught in their right mind talking about in real life. I laugh every time someone says that they are boycotting activision by A: not buying any of their games or B: only buying used games.

COD4 looked amazing when it was released......... its just too bad MW2 looks about the same
MP wise there is no reason to play it really compared to other online shooters. Hell I just got done with a session of BF2 and had more fun with it despite it being my first time playing BF2.
Spec Ops is easily the most redeeming thing out of it but even still I don't think that it is enough to make it great. A lot of the SP's "oh wow" moments weren't really that great. The American levels are awesome, especially of their own accord but aside from that its not nearly as memorable as cod4 campaign was.
Its a good game but its not amazing nor the best FPS this year.
What the frack are you talking about? GT gets a hell of a lot of hate, racers just don't get as much attention as FPS's. TC, MW2 is all flash and no substance, like others said "it gets old quick".It amazes me how people can think COD is actually intense or hectic :|.Why waste your time with subpar fps's like COD when you can enjoy quality fps's like Halo, Bad Company on consoles and much more superior fps's on pc?System Wars hates extremely popular games: Modern Warfare 2/Halo 3 mainly.

Its so hated because its so popular. It also appeals to the casual gamer and little kids. Everyone has to be special, different, and go against the flow.
Its a good game. The muliplayer has a lot of customization and modes--things that most people find to be fun. However, I have to disagree about the graphics. I don't think they are great. IMO they are toned down to assure a solid, fast FPS because MW2 is supposed to be a fast paced shooter. So the graphics are just ok, but it runs smooth. Its a trade off.
I do find the little screaming, annoying, singing, prepubescent kids to be the worst part of that game. Mute ftw.

Oh yeah Borderlands is a very great FPS/RPG, it's art style makes it very pleasing to watch and it's a welcomed change of pace from the dark/gritty art style that most UE3 games adopt.Idon't understand why people here don't talk about it as much, it's a shame:(.People always jump to the conclusion that people hate what's popular.
I come from a history of Counter Strike. Call of Duty to me a step backwards in gameplay because I feel that all of the guns in that game have NO recoil. It's scary how fast people can pull off headshots because of the no recoil. In addition, you can't shoot through as many walls as you can in Counter-Strike and you are fairly accurate while walking and shooting. Lastly, if you play the deathmatch, that mode is camp fest. I'll often hear new people talking about about how when you first play you'll die a lot. It doesn't matter if you're good at aiming, you'll die a million times. Reason is because of the campers and because people have a lack of knowledge about the maps so it's harder to know where to go.
Now, I don't hate MW2. In the past I really liked call of duty games because they were intense in the gameplay. I feel that the campaigns are intense and action packed, but now the game shows its age as it's running on an old engine (the explosions/smoke still look absolutely horrible btw). The game is just way too overhyped. The activision CEO basically has everyone by the nuts and people will now gobble up any rehash. Infinity Ward is going to have to pull off some supernatual **** to continuously top call of duty if they are going to be making more.
Most people on this board are under age, so it may just be that its "cool" to hate on the popular game, and multiply that by 10 if that game happens to be an exclusive :Pnavyguy21most people who are underage are most likely to think the most popular games are the best. Where do you think the mass fanbase of Halo comes out of?

Where do you think the mass fanbase of Halo comes out of? Halo is so big for the same reason Wii is so big....it attracts casuals as well as hardcore fans. I have met/seen more adult men and women who play Halo faithfully than younger ones. I think you just HEAR, and SEE the younger crowd on these boards. What proof do you have to the contrary? Ive seen just about every poll on this forum asking the userbase's age, and the vast majority are under 18...........which usually come with more immaturity, and insecurity.

I loved that level
if they made it with only those kinds of levels it would be my goty
To be honest after playing both cod4 and mw2 I like MW2 set pieces more. The story is still uninteresting and so are the characters, but the twist in it was still nice.
the single player was too short but besides that it was a fun ride even though it didn't last long the multiplayer is great and so is spec op.
watch qwhen you beat the game youll make another post asking if that's it it feels unfinished in the single player.

I'll be looking forward to this irony when God of War 3 comes out.Anyway, I understand why pc gamers would hate on MW2 but that about it tho.
i loved it when it came out but now im completely bored with it. i will play the online from time-to-time but playing it just reminds me why i dont play it often. its just....more of the same, i guess.

Actually, I got really bored with Borderlands pretty fast. Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 are really the only innovating multiplayer games to me as far as first person shooters go in recent years. Just because I play with friends all the time I think, makes it so damn fun. Borderlands kind of felt like a chore after a while, even with friends.
I thought Battlefield BC was blah compared to BF2, so that really didn't do much for me.
I cant stand it because of the really bad multiplayer maps, 10000s of glitches, Overpowered guns and killstreaks, and its the most camper friendly game probably ever

I don't see how Bad Company 2 has innovated more than Call of Duty. Destructible environments, and huge maps is nothing new. A lot of what people praise BC2 for is stuff that was in Battlefield 2. I'm not one to complain, I love Battlefield, and Call of Duty.Bad netcode, party system has issues, match making is just horrible, horrible maps, gameplay to repetitive, noob friendly, campers delight. You can play all 15 maps and the gameplay feels the same through out. People vote to skip maps just for laughs I guess cause the maps all suck lol. Really its just mind numbing gameplay. People talk more about leveling than they do about gameplay.

being honest i totally disagree (bolded)thats a good thing the amount of times when i played BF2 when i first started i got tanned and thought why did i even bother its not a good thing for a new player and that kinda statement imo reeks of elitism cause it levels the playing field and thus imo makes it more enjoyable.

you clearly don't have any clue how dedicated servers work on pc... it cost infinity ward nothing to include dedicated servers for pc just need to code it into the game and release code for servers and the community will pay for and host all the servers ever needed. Dedicated servers had been a staple of pc gaming since the early days of quake mp and the community is what pays to keep em running not the developers.... so there is no reasons to not include dedicated servers for the pc version. p2p is a step backward not forwards theres a reasons when a console game actually has dedicated servers its considered a plus. Please Log In to post.
