I'm pretty unimpressed with all the consoles this gen

Thus far I am also unimpressed with this generation. With my PS2 and Xbox I would always have a game that I wanted. This generation, very few games appeal to me. So lack of "quality games" (graphics don't make quality) and expensive hardware have made this generation so far a failure (albeit the generation is still in its infancy).

Xbox 360: Gears and bioshock are the only interesting games out in my opinion. Its problems should have been addressed immediately.

Wii: Low price and innovation it has, but the quality titles have still not come out. The only interesting titles for me are SMG and the upcoming Mario Kart game. I know it has more games, but I am speaking purely from my viewpoint and factoring in my preferences in videogames. I've never played Zelda or Metroid and have no interest to do so. At least not a strong enough interest to cause me to buy a new system. Also, there isn't a Wii at any retailer around. I check my local stores form time to time and look on some internet sites and have yet to see one.

PS3: The PS3 is a costly system. I don't have an HDTV. nor do many of the people in my neighborhood. It is nice that the graphics are wonderful, but aside from graphics the games have been lacking. NG:S, Resistance, Ratchet, and Tekken 6 are all seem like they are or are going to be high quality titles.

So, in short, this generation has been of no use to me and hence has been a failure in terms of its usefulness to me. I have college costs to worry about, so I am disappointed at how costly these systems have become. The systems have yet to justify the price or proven their utility to me. I'm sure many people love their systems and hence this generation, but I need either the price of the systems to drop or the number of great titles to increase. Sorry if this seems like a rant, but man I want a next gen system. I can buy any of them, but they look like crap on an SDTV. Oh well, back to entering random internet contests for the chance to win an HDTV. :cry:

I'm totally unimpressed with this generation. I have easy access to a PS3 and a Wii, but I'd rather play my Gamecube or PC than either console.Funkyhamster

I'm surprised by how many people think it's better

Xbox 360- Excellent graphics still blow my mind, excellent online play adds days' worth of replay value to my games, great game support both third and first party.

Wii- Awesome new control features, realistic pricing, online play finally getting it's act together, best first party support (as usual)

PS3- Pricey, with a seriously lacking game selection. No matter what Cows say, I really don't see what the PS3 has now or in the future, besdies MGS 4. The games man...the games....

TMNT arcade, Super MArio 64, LOZ Ocarina, FF7, FF10, Halo, Halo2. Those are the games that took most in my life of gaming. WEll also Soul Calibur, Toy Commander (DC), And DOA3. I can say my most enjoyable games were on old consoles. My most impressive games are on the new systems. Gears is not fun anynore, But god it looks good.akuma303x

I'm very curious about that game it looks cool

The 360 has all of the harware issuse on top of over charging for xbox live and for there accessories.

the ps3 is too expensive and it's lack of games make it very undesireable right now.

the wii is great and all i have one but it's lack of great games and poor online have me dissapointed.

I try not to be biased in this tool be honest i'm unimpressed with the big three this year but please feel free to disagree with me I would love to here some other people's opinions.

listen...wat a console lacks in something, the other makes up for it!
the point is... there is no best console--- in whichever generation it may be.

see, this is like pokemon.... there is no best pokemon to start with....only the one you like most.

personally, im satisfied with each coming generation... if you cant find what you want in one console youll find it in the other. you just have to pick the one that suits you.

and lets be real... the big 3 are big companies, and they will always in one way or another try to rip you off.
BUT, I believe there are some people in the industry the really love games and work hard to give us gamers ( casuals and hardcores alike) a better gaming experience in each coming generation.

and if you cant appreciate that hard work.... then just leave and go play your retro games damn it

I also loved tOY commander. One of the best games ever imho. I am also very disappointed this generation. Nothing interests me. Personally, I think this is not the 2nd golden age, but rather the peak and beginning of a decline in videogames. I dont think any home console will ever outdo the sales of PS2 (and no i am not a sony fanboy, I dont like Sony much actually). And I think the psone had the widest variety of games of all consoles ever!
