You can quote me on this, anyone who says Little Big Planet will move systems is delirious. As far as Little Big Planet goes it's a hardcore game masquerading as a casual game and I highly doubt this game alone will help to make the PS3 move more systems and cause casuals to buy a PS3. Please...no matter what anyone will say casuals will for the most part lean towards the Wii due to the fact it has the best supply of games for them.
Little Big Planet looks great, I can't wait to try it out but I have two doubts about it
1) It won't move systems as it's fundamentally a game for the hardcore {Casuals might be turned off if the level building is too difficult}
2) I doubt it'll beAAAE, AAAE most likely (PS3's first), AAE who knows we have to see how it shapes up
My point is: LBP won't change casual's opinions on the PS3. Don't say 'no one ever said this', I see it all the time. Toriko42

Sorry, all those A's had me seeing doubleHmm it really depends on how user-friendly the creation interface is. If it's anywhere near as complicated as it could be then I can't imgaine it appealing to a broader audience.PopadophalisYeah, we haven't seen anything about this. How do we know what it's gonna be like..it could be overtly complicated and annoying to build a good level on. If it's anything like forge in Halo 3 or linerider only the hardcore will play it.

I think its supposed to be essy to use, but hard to master.
Anyne could make a simple creation, but the more difficult things will require practise. You will just have to start off simple. I plan on playing with friends so we can practise toghether and stuff.
I think this game will get a 9-9.5. It could get a 10 if its good enough. It could be a system seller if sony starts marketing it. This is the first game oof this type to be done well on consoles and I think that many people would be interested in this game.

Looks like it was just a typo... :?
not sure if LBP will be a system seller, but what I know is that from vids/info shown on this game, its shaping up nicely and surely its catching interest...
I'll surely get this game once released..
You may be right, but it does have great potential to be a system seller. If it is indeed easy to pick up and play from the begining, and is fun to play.....it sure seems innovative, and if it is marketed well, this game could indeed move some PS3's.gwarlitoTrue if it is marketed well but Sony hasn't been good at marketting this generation
The only reason this trash is getting hyped is because cows and Sony have no other exclusives to talk about. If this was multi platform they would not give a crap about it. The truth is LBP is not in the same league as MGS4, it will not shift consoles, and most PS3 owners did not buy a PS3 to play trash like this.Nicky75
The game has not even come out and your bashing it already, seriously get ready to be owned by every ps3 fanboy.

[QUOTE="gamerfreak13"]I'm getting a PS3 because of it.Toriko42Why?
Maybe hecause he/she want to? duh.
I'm no PS3 fan at all, I only own a 360 of the current gen consoles, but even I can tell that LPB is going to be something special. It seems like the spiritual successor to Line Rider. And just like Line Rider, if the players are creative and skilled enough there will be no limit to how awesome the created levels will be.
However, I don't think LBP will get a 10 since some previews have shown that the interface to create the levels is hard to use. Plus, the core platforming gameplay seems really basic.
But Linerider is a game for the really hardcore, casual linerider players can just draw lines and hope they work. Hardcore can do amazing things. I think you are right, LBP might not be a system seller, unless casual players want to play the levels created by the hardcore players so much that they'll buy a $400 system for it.
CAN SOMEONE explaine to me why this game is so hyped upp. Its a game where you play with cute dolls and build cute levels , its for girls and kids IMO. What is it that makes MALE GAMERS over 18 so excited aboute this game , I just want to know.
I would seriously never bring friends home to play this game , netiher would I play it alone.

Haha yeah its pretty fun, But seriously there is some kind of line of what males like and what females like. If you watch male kids they play with batman and powerrangers and if you watch female kids they play with barbiedolls. ITs the same kind of thing in Gameing IMO. This is not becouse its exclusive to sony I hope it scores AAAA I couldnt care less to be honest its just that this is not a game for me , I Could never get excited aboute it.
There are such games that are for kids and girls , Like Nintendogs , and Imo LBP falls into that category...

ROSIE O'DONNELL MANLY!!
People who think LBP is for kids is well... kidding themselves. I couldn't care less about what your views are on it because you're just gonna end up missing out on a great game.
As for the topic itself, I don't think it's gonna move systems either because although people in the know about gaming know a lot about it, most casuals haven't even heard of it and when they see advertisments for it, they ain't gonna take the greatest of interest in it being as it's not on their desired console.
I mean I wen't into gamestation to get soul calibur 4 and the guy behind the counter asked if I wanted to pre-order anything so I told him LBP and it wasn't even on the list, their were more pre-orders for Lego Batman!

DAMN THAT was some ugly **** , please remove it, it destroys this thread. Someone could report you.
The problem is you will never be able to prove it one way or the other. LBP releases in mid-late Oct........which means the console will be selling because of the holidays anyways. It'll be tough to say whether or not people are buying the console for LBP. Of course if the game sells 3-4 million units by the end of the year.....yeah I think it's safe to say it was a console mover (you don't sell that amount without moving consoles). But if it ends up 1-2 million, it probably didn't move hardly any.

If you haven't seen how the create part looks like, then you haven't been watching any LBP videos. Last year and early this year was alot about the create part of the game.
LittleBigPlanet will be a great game. Well...at least I hope it will be.
About being a system seller, I don't know. I already convinced a few people to buy a ps3 just for this game. =) And already have about 20 copies sold, so, we will see how it turns out.
It might only get AAA or lower, but it has the potential to get AAAA, because the reviewers have always been more than wowed by it.
I dont know if it'll be a system seller either to be honest... I think it might be one of those games that wont sell as well as it deserves to. But then again the hype surrounding this game, with all the positive previews... it could be great.
Everywhere I've read it's been called a "casual" game more than a hardcore game too... so we'll see.
I wonder why there is suddenly so much hate for Little Big Planet?Faulttt
Every game goes through it. Some hate it, some love it, some are apathetic about it.
Theres probably more hate for it right now because its coming out in about 2 months, and its an exclusive. Had it been a multiplat, there would have been no problem with it.
