[QUOTE="nintendoman562"]I agree 100%. I was watching e3 and then my mom decided to watch a bit of it since i was watching it. She saw Wii Music and said, "Are you only supposed to just press random buttons? Isn't there some sort of goal here?" i said that it's a really simple game for people new to video games to get used to and she told me, "People who don't play video games are just inexperienced, not stupid." So i guess casuals are thinking the same thing.CPM_basic

"People who don't play video games are just inexperienced, not stupid."

Nintendo should make this their new motto. So they stop making crappy games no one wants to play.

I want to play Wiisports 2 and I want to play Wiifit.....

Yeah, it's just like Halo.

I mean, I'm a soldier, and we get hours of training into how not to get shot.

Then Halo comes along, and suddenly there are rechargeable shields which mean that if you get shot it doesn't matter! I mean, as a professional soldier who trains alot not to get shot, I find this insulting.

And Hitman. Professional assassins all over the world must be seething that suddenly, it doesn't matter if you get caught and killed. I mean, where's THEIR save and reload? Huh? I think the developers had better watch their backs.

And Rockband, and Guitar Hero, and.....

Then what does that make Guitar Hero and Rock Band? :o

They're the same concept if you ask me, one just has a scoring system.

TenP
The score is what puts the challenge and therefore fun into it IMO.

i agree, the only problem i have with wii music is that Nintedo are producing it, it just takes manpower, money and resorces away from making real games.

if this was third party then i would think its a great thing for the kids (if it was priced at around £10-£15)

you realize that wii music isn't so much a "game" as it is just a more interactive imagination.

kids still do that right? they imagine playing air guitar or that a stick is a microphone etc.

this is basically that but with interactive music rather than just your stereo in the background. No you don't have to play correctly. That's not the point of it. it's just fantasy.

yes, you could argue it both ways. thegoldenpoo does have a good point and possibly valid depending on how Nintendo structures themselves and work force. If they are actually shifting resources to this team and it takes away from more typicaly games, that is a valid argument.

However, if N is simply reinvesting their fortune from the casual audience, no one loses, just only the casuals win regarding this one release.

I like different, it hasn't been done before, and introducing a variety of musical instruments most kids can't afford to rent let alone own, its a good choice.

Introducing music to kids at such a young age can only be a good thing, because I think experiencing music is rather important in a child's development.

It doesn't insult the intelligence of little kids! They will like it!

But I think Eye Pet is better.

It is not a problem at all. It is just what we would prefer. Of course, there's nothing bad Miyamoto san making a game for kids. Just that we would like him more making another Zelda, for example.

We are not saying there's something bad on it, just what, from our point of view, would like more.

the biggest difference between wii music and RB/GH is that one is meant for the biggest demographic of the wii: kiddys. GH/RB requires that you time your button presses with the matching imaging on the screen. Wii music is pretty much like a true air guitar that makes notes as you swing around it's questionable controller. This game along side imagine party babyz gives me all the fodder I need to keep the hate going. Flame on fanboys, flame on.

If there is a demand for the game then I say make it...Why not if there are going to be people who have fun playing it. Let them play it. HarlockJC

Damm this sounds like Sensible talk.. doesn't happen much round here.....

I was playing Guitar Hero the other day and after I played it I thought I could be play like the Legends like Hendrix and Page.... Then I suddenly realised its a game.

I will say it again some people don't enjoy the games you and I do... amazing but yes its true...

The market has broadened and more accesible to everyone not just us gaming geeks..... To slate a game for no other reason than it maybe enjoyed by casuals kids/adults is just sad. I like WOW someone else may hate get it??

Wiimusic will, like all music games and most of wii, suck. . . Sadly, there is no way around it. It might be a little fun to see it in person once or so, but the game will without the shadow of a doubt suck.

I don't want yearly updates of the same game like other companies do, specially not from Nintendo and Blizzard.

Rock Band and Guitar Hero are actual games, this is just...an experience of sort of waving your arms around and midi tunes coming out automatically. You can't fail, although you seemingly can interact with the songs by changing the instrument, volume and rythm of the notes. It's supposed to tune into the appeal of drumming or air guitaring along to a song, but as long as the game just allows you play a bunch of crappy midi songs it megafails.

Yes

, this is just...an experience of sort of waving your arms around and midi tunes coming out automatically.InsaneBasura

Actually, if you watch the videos on GameTrailers for the instruments, you do the motion of the actual instrument. Not quite 'waving your arms around'.

You can't fail, although you seemingly can interact with the songs by changing the instrument, volume and rythm of the notes. InsaneBasura

Of course you can't fail. You just said it your self it's not an actual game. It's not.

It's supposed to tune into the appeal of drumming or air guitaring along to a song, but as long as the game just allows you play a bunch of crappy midi songs it megafails.InsaneBasura

It does a bit more than that. There are over SIXTY instruments. You can create jam recordings. You can control the conductor for an orchestra. It has an ear tone game.

You can "Send your band-jam recordings to Wii Friends who have Wii Music. They'll see your MiiTM band members, your players' improv styles and your instrument selections. They can watch your recordings, or play over parts of your song, then send their modified recording back to you. Improv jams can be sent back and forth over WiiConnect24 and changed again and again"

It does quite a few other things as well. It's just a fun toy.

To quote the description: "just playing for the pure joy of playing"

You guys are being a little dramatic. It's a game without a point. To me that makes it a toy. There is no point in playing with Ninja Turtles either, are they an insult to human intellegence?

Does anybody remember if there was a point to Mario Paint. Am I not intelligent because I used Mario Paint once when I was 11?

[QUOTE="Lemmywinks_360"]and yet for $50, idiots will buy it to air drum/guitar/piano. now sheep do you see why I hate the new nintendo so much. console gaming will be dead after this gen.Bread_or_Decide

they will steal a big market share from rockband and guitar hero. and IMO, thats lame...

A truly music simulator vs a gimmick...

and the later winning >_<

Sorry, I'd rather spend fifty bucks on a toy that lets me pretend to play a bunch of different instruments than 70 bucks on a game that I have to basically learn to play a whole new instrument just to have the guitar music appear in a song.

I own GH:III and it's an amazing game in the fact that it makes me play piano more than ever before due to the realization that at higher levels Guitar Hero takes just as much practice as any other instrument, yet it's an entirely pointless skill.

Honestly you can say that about any past time. "If you spent as much time playing halo multiplayer you could have mastered any other skill."

The point is, other games are a unique experiance. Guitar Hero is just a guitar simulation. True, you could say games are a pointless skill, but Guitar Hero is a pointless skill that you aquire when you could be playing a real instrument.
