might make me go 360. idk right now its between the 60 GB PS3 and the Elite. As far as games go, both have 2 exclusives that I'm really looking forward to. X360 has Halo 3 and Bioshock, and PS3 has MGS4 and FFXIII.

However, I also kinda want Ratchet and Clank, and DEFINITELY will want God of War 3 when it hits PS3, not to mention all those PS2 games I never got to play...AND it doesnt have a hardware failure rate of 35%...

On the other hand, 360 has tons of great stuff out now though, as opposed to PS3, and, well, you know...Halo 3...

damn, I can't decide...I've aways liked the software on Sony's consoles, but Microsofts making a good showing this gen and is giving PS3 a beating...but will it last? PS3 seems like a better investment as far as whats under the hood, but will the software library ever catch up?

...help...

JAMES_L_BROOKS

dude ill be honest go wiht the PS3, the time of waiting is over and the games are just being released starting end of this month, so get a PS3, you asked for help and im helping tyou, dont get a 360 bcz its now going out of date, and wont have amazing crossplatform games like UT3, it wont have games liek MGS4 KZ2 and FFXIII/versus/KH3, also PS3 is getting LA noire, and new franchise bigger than GTA exclusive from R*, neways i could go on telling you why this thing is amazing, but you could just get 1 and expearince it for yourself, also HALO 3 will come to PC like halo 1 and 2 did so wait a little more, bcz if you buy a 360 now you will finish the fight...for good...and that will be it....no more good games...mebe GeOW 2 next year, but thats it...

Never take advice from a 13 year old.

Reasons to get a 360:

- Better games right now
- Better games for the rest of 2007
- More great games coming in 2008
- Multiplatform gamesare better on 360
- Its cheaper
- The interface is better
- The controller is better
- The online is better, well worth the fee
- New 360's have HDMI anda heatsink to stop overheating

I could only suggest the PS3 to someone who owned a high-end PC, or someone who desperately wanted a Blu-Ray player. If you ignore the 360/PC you are simply missing out on WAY too much.

Actually...

(I'm assuming you have a PS3) how are the new L2 and R2 buttons on the SIXAXIS? I heard they are more like the triggers used on the Xbox controllers, you like em more then the flat buttons on the DualShock 2?

sorry, but dont ask that guy stuff, he can barely type. its like talking to a boggle game. the triggers are better to me if the games use em right. i didnt like how motorstorm used them for throttle, but fortunately they had a controller setup, so its cool. i like the new controller, quite comfortable, light, battery lasts for a long while of gaming before needing a recharge. if you get that, i would rec. the long charging cord for like $10, the one that comes with it is way too short.

lol i can type if i go slower... hah boggle game...also the controlloer charges very fast 20 min about so you dont need to buy the cords, unless you cant spare 20 min

apolloluke

ok, dont lead the guy wrong. first off, PS3 has things coming for the rest of 2007, its taste on which games you prefer, not one is better than the other

what great games does the 360 have coming in 2008? they havent really announced anything, so that is up in the air.

multis have been better, but UT3 seems to be changing that quickly.

it is cheaper

interface is again, subjective, so you cant say its better

controller being better is subjective, they both have their strong points.

online being better could change, but at the moment it has more friend options, thats about it. the actual games online cant be shown to be better, as lots of people on this forum have complained of lag problems, and host advantage. meanwhile the dedicated servers of the PS3 games are lag free, and no advantage.

the new 360 models still have the GPU sitting around 90-100 degrees celcius, thats enough to boil water, and thats way too hot for a GPU. they havent fixed the problem, and it will probably be months till they do.

No one can magically tell you what to choose. Go to IGN, and look at the release dates for both systems, Pick out games that are must's and make them red in a list. Then compare both lists for both systems and pick a winner.

[QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"]I have them both and I can tell you that I use my 360 a hell of a lot more. The 360 has the best line-up this year, so buy a 360 this year, then buy a PS3 sometime next year.TheBigDrat

Again..the best lineup to you.

He only mentions BioShock and Halo 3.

He wants way more PS3 exclusives.

Why on Earth would you tell him to get a 360? Unless he has the budget to get both he should just get a PS3.

But then again this is SW..so nevermind.

the 360 has better games. My PS3 gets less playing time than my original xbox. Anyone who thinks the PS3 has better games now or in the near future either likes flops and multiplats or is a complete fanboy.

See, I agreed with your first statement, I don't think anyone can argue with that.

Your last one, ha the irony. You talk about fanboyism? Did it ever occur to you that BioWare games do not appeal to everyone. Same with Halo and BioShock. Yeah..you really cant name any other game. Cause then you would just be making yourself seem more like a fanboy.

PS3 has games coming out that appeal to them, as 360 has games that will appeal to their fanbase. Iknow alot more people that are excited for Ratchet and Clank than Mass Effect, should we ban them cause they disagree with you?

Its obvious your the only fanboy with a statement like that.

yea I really would like to do that, its just im always on a tight budget. I did that last gen with xbox and ps2, and I missed out on so many good games on each system cuz I had to get good games from the other. This gen I want to try just getting one for awhile and experience everything it has to offer.

Problem here is do I start experienceing good games now with the 360, or wait a little while and play games that I'll probably end up liking a little more...

oh, ur BioShock sig kicks all kinds of ass btw

halo 3, bioshock, banjo, ut3(some fanboy implied it wasnt coming to 360), forza, dead rising, crackdown, mass effect, etc. And then any multiplat you may desire plus superior multiplayer... 360 was the easy choice for me. the big complaint is that 360 titles can sometimes be found on pc as well but i dont have a pc good enough to play them the way i can on 360 so if thats your situation too then there ya go!

Get a 360 and then Bioshock in a couple of days, then halo 3 in about a month and a half. After that, you should have plenty of time to save up for a PS3 and MGS4/FFXIII.

This mans speaks the truth. There is no reason not to have both systems. Its just a matter of now or later. You have halo 3, bioshock, eternal, lost oddyssey, mass effect, left 4 dead, too human, fable 2, banjo 3 ect on 360 side. Mgs 4, little big planet, kz2, ff13, and alot of others i cant really think up.

Okay, TC, I'm gonna be honest with you here, and I hope you take my advice at least a little bit seriously, because I think there's mostly been "Go 360 now, PS3 later!" replies so far.

The 360 is getting 3 high profile games this holiday season. Halo 3, Bioshock (also on pc -- this may affect your purchase if you can run it), and Mass Effect. They will probably all be kickass games. Now, looking into 2008, there's not much to look forward to. I'm not saying that there aren't ANY games coming to 360 next year that are potential greats, because GeOW2 and Banjo 3 will probably be amazing.

To be honest, the 360 is kind of a "GET IT NOW, INSTANT SATISFACTION" system. After 2007, the PS3 is getting a flood of high profile games, while the 360 will be winding down.

If you really do enjoy and are looking forward to Sony exclusives such as GoW3, MGS4, FFXIII and Versus, WKS (looks like you're an rpg fan, you should check White Knight Story out), KZ2 (yeah, this one we'll have to wait and see, but it looks to be shaping up well), Little Big Planet (this is coming out 2007 downloadable, 2008 on bluray), Gran Turismo 5 (possible for 2008, we'll see though) and so much more. If you're into JRPG's, I really hope that you at least wait until Tokyo Game Show before deciding on the 360 and the PS3, because we're probably going to see some exclusive announcements for the PS3 from some high profile jrpg developers.

So now that we know that for YOU, the PS3 2008 lineup is going to be a whole lot better than the 360's, can you live with a PS3 for the rest of 2007? While many 360 fanboys on this forum will try and spin it the other way, this holiday is no slouch for the PS3 either.

A new R&C that looks to be the best of the series, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune from the very talented Naughty Dog, Warhawk (which has been getting rave previews), Lair (we'll have to wait and see what GS has to say -- this one's a bit iffy), LBP's PSN release, Heavenly Sword (this one is gonna be huge), Gran Turismo 5: Prologue (yes, this will be available 2007 holiday), the best CONSOLE version of UT3 (of course, if you have a pc that's up to par, this point is moot), and the PS3 is sharing many high-profile multiplats with the 360 this holiday as well, such as Assassin's Creed and COD4.

So, essentially, you're going to have a really good 2007 either way. But long-term, honestly, as a fan of Sony's exclusive series, which system do you think is better for YOU? It's hard to ignore all the 360 fans on here, but you really should judge for yourself. If your strapped for cash, the decision is pretty important since you are unlikely to purchase both systems.

All the best.

PS3 seems like a better investment as far as whats under the hood, but will the software library ever catch up?

...help...

R3B311I0N

um... the difference is the games you really want for the 360 are out this year, the ones you want for the ps3(mgs, ff) are out next year and 2009 just wait until late 2008 for a ps3 then it will be worth it and the two games you want will be out by then

hardware failure(new heat distribution in the hdmi 360s should solve your problem, and three year warranty)

so get a 360..

All the best.

tskeeve

I also agree with his advice...my advice to you is that if you want only one dominant console in you're house and want to play it for a long life span then go with the ps3..the ps2 is a good example and im sure the ps3 will follow...but 360 has a dominant lineup for the rest of 07, but they're 08 lineup doesn't look as good as ps3's...both systems are very good tho but when the halo series dies , then what game does 360 off as much as popularity as halo...bioshock is good but i think its one of those one time games type of game...IMO ps3 has a lot of popular sequals of great games and new ones that are looking great like lbp, heavenly sword, and killzone 2

if u can, buy a 360 right now, since the lineup is better, and then later, buy a ps3 when they're line becomes much better.

Ask yourself this question, do you want to play games in 2007 or 2008?

...you're right, man.

08 will rock for PS3, and since I only buy 1 or 2 games a month (if that), I won't even notice the lack of games for the rest of the year. My favorite kind of games are the crazy action games like Devil May Cry, God of War, and Ninja Gaiden, which incedentially, PS3 has all of those. JRPGs are also up there, which, again, PS3 will most likley get a leg up on.

My PC blows, so UT3 on PS3 is really my only option. I'll miss out on Bioshock, but I've always been a bigger fan of Half Life 2, and with Orange Box on PS3, I'll finally be able to play it.

Now that I think about it, the choice is really quite obvious...

Sadly, I won't be able to finish the fight, and, since all my friends are xbox fanboys, I'm gonna get my ass kicked, but oh well...

Thanks man

Get a 360 and then Bioshock in a couple of days, then halo 3 in about a month and a half. After that, you should have plenty of time to save up for a PS3 and MGS4/FFXIII.

No problem, I just wish some other people on this forum were as open-minded as you lol.

And I used to have that exact same problem -- most of my friends were xbox fanboys in high school. I think it's actually better that way, because I got to play all the Halos and good xbox games without actually HAVING one myself. Hey, maybe this way you're friends can try out some PS3 games and you can play through Halo 3 without actually purchasing the system. But college is different, most people could care less what console you have :)

I've never played halo but hear it from me. I know it's a great game but if it doesn't add to the story I recommend you get a ps3 because it'll be fresher experince more than halo.

I say, if you can wait, then wait. I love Halo and all, but I'm not about to go all out and wait in line for hours and what not. Not to mention it's going to be sold out for a quite a while. I'm not panicing or anything. I'll just wait until demand falls. Anyway, I say wait a while and see what happens. There might even be some price drops.

Get a 360 now. Then a year later... If you still want a PS3. Go for it.

If you want the PS2 hardware in your PS3. Then this is time to get one before they are gone for good. Other then that... Why wait for 2008 games? When you can get your loved 2007 games?
